POSITION

We've built one of the fastest-growing consumer mobile businesses in Europe: 500 million downloads, ~$400M ARR, 60+ apps across AI, wellness, and gaming, a global team of 500+ people, and revenue increasingly running through web funnels. 

We're looking for a Head of Legal who is native to the consumer tech and direct-to-consumer app world - someone who doesn't need months of onboarding to understand our reality. 

This is a build role. You will be our first senior legal hire, reporting directly to the CEO you will manage our existing Legal Counsel from day one, own the highest-priority areas personally, and design what the broader function looks like from here.

App Store and Play Store enforcement, GDPR and DSA exposure, AI Act readiness, creative compliance across a large portfolio, payment and subscription risk at scale - the surface area is real and growing. We need someone who can get ahead of it.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• App Store and Platform Compliance: Managing Compliance across our entire publisher portfolio - escalations, account issues, ban recovery, policy interpretation. You will develop playbooks for managing platform risk across 60+ apps on shared publisher accounts

• Privacy and Regulatory: Building a durable privacy infrastructure: consent flows, data requests, breach protocols, cookie policy. You will partner with engineers and product teams to build privacy-by-design into how we ship

• IP and Competitive Compliance: Payment compliance, chargeback strategy, refund policy, and dispute handling at scale. You will bring an understanding of the industry's best practices

• Legal Operations and Team Building: You will design the legal operating model - how decisions get made, how risk is assessed, how external counsel is deployed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Deep, hands-on experience in consumer tech or direct-to-consumer mobile apps. You are native to App Store and Play Store reality. You know how platforms enforce policies, how creatives create legal exposure, and how to build compliance frameworks that scale

• Real depth in GDPR and privacy law as applied to app-driven, subscription-based businesses

• A track record of building legal systems, not just solving problems case-by-case. Playbooks, risk frameworks, self-service tooling. Structures that hold up when you are not in the room

• Product and Growth fluency. You have managed or closely collaborated with Product and Growth teams

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 8+ years of legal experience with meaningful time in consumer tech or direct-to-consumer mobile

• Turns ambiguity into frameworks rather than waiting for clarity and guidance

• You’re genuinely energised by the consumer app world - the platforms, the products, and the pace

• Experience building for scale from day one: every decision, every playbook, every process should be built to last.

• Operating as a creative partner to the business

• Is comfortable being the most senior legal voice in the room

• Knowledge in Commercial law

NICE TO HAVE

• Corporate structure, including holding companies

• Transfer pricing compliance, IP legal and economic ownership, economic substance, DEMPE functions

• Understanding of FTC compliance

• Experience across multiple jurisdictions (US,UK,EU)

• Some familiarity with Employment Law
