Our partner is seeking a Senior Environmental Professional - Utilities in Boston, Massachusetts. This leadership role focuses on delivering environmental and engineering solutions that support utility infrastructure projects across the Northeast. The position combines technical project leadership, client relationship management, and business development responsibilities within electric, gas, and water utility markets.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced environmental professional with strong utility sector expertise, established industry relationships, and experience supporting strategic growth initiatives. The role offers a hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level technical leadership on environmental projects, including compliance, site investigation, remediation, and permitting
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to utility clients and support long-term client relationships
  • Support business development efforts and help secure work with electric, gas, and water utility clients
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities
  • Contribute to proposal development, pursuit planning, and go/no-go decisions
  • Mentor and guide project managers and technical staff supporting utility accounts
  • Ensure deliverables meet regulatory requirements and organizational quality standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • 15+ years of environmental consulting experience
  • Professional licensure preferred (PE, LEP, LSP, PG, or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering environmental services to utility clients
  • Established relationships within Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or Southern New Hampshire utility markets preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and environmental challenges within the utility sector
  • Experience leading complex environmental projects and supporting business growth
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with both in-office and remote collaboration
  • Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check
