About the Client

  • We are supporting the recruitment for a 25-year-old, US-headquartered IT consulting and digital transformation firm working with enterprise clients on technology implementation and business process improvement. They are now extending to Sydney as part of their Asia-Pacific expansion.

About the Role

  • This is a hands-on Senior Consultant role sitting within a high-performing, globally distributed team of data and technology consultants. You will be embedded directly with an enterprise client's internal Sales team in Sydney, acting as their trusted data and insights partner to drive sales performance, territory planning, and commercial decision-making.
  • The Sales team operates within the Education and Not-for-Profit sector. Your role is to bridge the gap between raw data and meaningful commercial outcomes — translating data into clear, actionable insights that the Sales team can act on daily.
  • This is not a pure technical role. You will be client-facing, working across multiple stakeholders, and expected to communicate complex data findings in plain business language.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to support sales performance tracking, territory analysis, and commercial scorecards for the Sales leadership team
  • Translate data outputs into clear business insights and recommendations that drive commercial decisions
  • Partner with the Sales team on data requests, performance reporting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Develop and manage SQL-based data models and transformations to support reporting needs
  • Work with Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Fabric to streamline data workflows and enhance reporting capabilities
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across the client's business, ensuring solutions are aligned to real commercial needs
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team across time zones, contributing to best-practice documentation and knowledge sharing

The Reality

  • 1-year renewable contract — approximately 80% of consultants are renewed
  • Hybrid: 1–2 days per week at the client's Sydney office
  • You'll report to two senior managers based in different global offices
  • Start date: as soon as possible — ideally 1 July 2026
  • Salary: AUD $115,000–$150,000 base depending on experience

Requirements

About You

  • You are a commercially-minded data professional who thrives in client-facing environments. You know how to take complex data and make it meaningful for business stakeholders — and you're equally comfortable in a boardroom as you are in a SQL editor.
  • Critically, you have direct experience working with or supporting a Sales team — whether that's building performance dashboards, producing territory or pipeline reports, or delivering commercial scorecards. This is a confirmed requirement for this role. Experience working within or alongside the Education or Not-for-Profit sector is strongly preferred.
  • You don't need to be a developer or data architect. You need to be someone who understands data deeply enough to work with it, and understands business well enough to make it useful.

What You'll Need

  • Functional proficiency in Power BI — building and maintaining dashboards for business stakeholders (not just technical users)
  • Solid SQL skills — writing queries, managing data models, and supporting reporting pipelines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Fabric (functional level — not a developer)
  • Proven experience supporting a Sales team with data-driven performance reporting, territory analysis, or commercial analytics
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills — able to translate data outputs into business language
  • Experience in or exposure to the Education or Not-for-Profit sector (preferred, not essential)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing consulting environment with multiple concurrent priorities
  • Based in Sydney, Australia — no relocation or remote-only applicants
