Join UASI today and work with the top HIM experts in the industry! We are currently seeking an experienced Outpatient and Professional E&M Coding Auditor to join our team working remotely from a home office.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct coding audits of outpatient facility services, including ancillary procedures, PET scans, and simple visit encounters, to ensure coding accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Perform comprehensive audits and reviews of professional Evaluation and Management (E/M) documentation and coding to validate code assignment and reimbursement accuracy.
- Provide ongoing feedback, education, and coaching to coding staff to improve coding quality, consistency, and adherence to coding guidelines.
- Review and analyze clinical documentation and assigned codes from a variety of medical records to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other applicable code assignment in accordance with current coding standards, regulatory requirements, and client-specific policies and guidelines.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, quality conscious and be able to adapt well to change. Additional qualifications include:
- AHIMA or AAPC certification
- 2-3 years’ hospital outpatient and professional E&M auditing experience
- Experience in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCC as well as procedural/surgical coding
- Ability to participate in client facing discussions regarding audit findings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with confidence on site and via webinar/conference calls
