Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Surgical Services for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.
This position offers an opportunity to join one of the region’s leading cardiovascular surgical teams. The RN will deliver exceptional perioperative and postoperative care for cardiac and vascular surgery patients, ensuring optimal outcomes through teamwork, precision, and compassion. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to cardiovascular surgical patients in collaboration with surgeons and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-operative assessments to guide individualized care plans.
  • Administer and document medications and treatments accurately using EPIC EMR.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and intervene promptly using sound clinical judgment.
  • Support surgical teams during procedures and ensure adherence to sterile and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Promote patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge planning.

Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent program eligible for Virginia licensure.

Experience

  • Cardiac or surgical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong interest in cardiovascular care are encouraged to apply.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Virginia RN license (or eligibility).
  • CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required as applicable within one year of hire.

Skills or Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to patient safety and compassionate care.
