About the role

Newzealandtradeandenterprise · Hybrid

Who we are:

NZTE’s purpose is to grow companies internationally – bigger, better, faster – for the good of New Zealand. As the Government’s international business development agency, we connect companies to opportunity, insight and networks across global markets, helping them navigate complexity and succeed offshore.

What you’ll be doing:

We’re looking for a Market Analyst (also known in the UK as a Market Research Specialist) to join our London team on a 3.5 month fixed term contract from mid-late August through early December.

This role is all about delivering high-impact, insight-led research that helps New Zealand exporters make smart decisions in EMEA markets.

You’ll:

  • Scope and deliver end-to-end market research projects – from brief through to insight delivery

  • Turn complex datasets into clear, relevant, commercially actionable insights

  • Craft compelling stories behind the numbers, presenting findings both visually and verbally

  • Produce high-quality reports, presentations and data visualisations

  • Support customer-facing teams with market intelligence and tailored insights

  • Contribute to regional and global research outputs

  • Work closely with stakeholders across NZTE to prioritise, refine and deliver projects at pace

  • Apply an understanding of AI tools in research, including opportunities and potential pitfalls

What you’ll need to be successful:

We’re looking for someone who can step in confidently and deliver from day one.

Must have:

  • Proven track record delivering quantitative market research and insights

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives and presentations

  • Strong stakeholder management, with experience working to tight deadlines

  • Experience scoping and delivering end-to-end research projects

  • Understanding of AI in research, including key opportunities and risks

Nice to have:

  • Primary research experience

  • Familiarity with platforms such as Toluna Start (or similar DIY survey tools)

  • Working knowledge of tools like Euromonitor, IbisWorld, Statista, Mintel or GWI

Second language skills (e.g. French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch or Arabic) would be a bonus!

We currently operate a hybrid work model, with at least 3 days per week working from the central London office.

For more information – please see the Position Description attached.

Why you’ll love working here:

You’ll be part of a globally connected organisation supporting New Zealand exporters, where your work has real commercial and economic impact. You’ll join a collaborative, purpose-driven team grounded in manaaki and trust, while gaining exposure to a diverse range of industries, markets and strategic challenges.

If you’re a skilled market analyst or research specialist who thrives on turning insight into impact and you’re ready for a fast-paced, meaningful short-term role - we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: you must already have the right to work in the UK for this period.

Indicative salary range for this role is £45,000 - £50,000 per annum.

Please apply with the CV and short cover letter before 11.59pm BST on Monday 29 June.
