Manager – Material Flow Engineering

Role Overview
We are seeking a Manager – Material Flow Engineering to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of material flow processes and storage systems across factory and warehouse operations.
This role will drive efficient material delivery to production and sub-assembly lines while leading cross-functional initiatives to improve operational performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and a track record of delivering results in fast-paced automotive manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and develop a team of material flow engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management.
- Define and execute material flow strategies aligned with production, logistics, and business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement culture across material flow and warehouse operations.
Design & Optimization
- Oversee the design and implementation of material flow processes, storage systems, and line-side delivery solutions.
- Ensure efficient and scalable material movement across factory and sub-assembly lines.
- Optimize layouts, storage concepts, and flow strategies to support volume ramp-up and new program launches.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with logistics, manufacturing, production planning, warehouse operations, and equipment design teams.
- Align on operational requirements and ensure seamless execution of material flow solutions.
- Act as a key interface between engineering and operations.
Operational Excellence & Cost Efficiency
- Deploy performance tracking tools (KPIs, audits, dashboards) to monitor material flow efficiency.
- Identify bottlenecks and drive initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimize costs.
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Ownership
- Drive end-to-end execution of material flow projects, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
- Lead greenfield and expansion projects, ensuring best-in-class material flow system implementation.
- Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.Tech.) in Industrial Engineering or related field.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in the automotive industry (mandatory).
- 6+ years of experience in Material Flow Engineering, including leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience with SKD and CBU programs.
- Strong background in greenfield project execution within OEM or Tier 1 environments.
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of material flow design, warehouse operations, and supply chain systems.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, time & motion studies, and change management.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and AutoCAD.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., FlexSim or equivalent) is preferred.

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a hands-on approach.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
