About you
You love our users, and you want to work with them. This is the single most important requirement. Implementing new software requires the enthusiastic support of our user base — military personnel across all ranks and occupational specialties throughout the Department of War. You understand them, and they confide in you.
You understand how military headquarters operate and how to be effective inside them, and want to apply that understanding with our customers. You may not be the most senior, but skillful planners respect you and your ability to quickly be useful and operate with good judgement.
You pay attention to detail. People rely on you. On your previous teams, you had a reputation as a workhorse. Example: we’re about to run a planning exercise, which will be the client's first exposure to our product. No one is worried, because they know you’ve taken care of it.
You’re technically adept. You don’t need to code, but you do need to be savvy. Can you become a power user of our product and learn to talk engineering with the customer?
You work well with customers. You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills by communicating with clarity and influence and cultivating trust.
You’re intense about our mission. It’s a core part of who you are.
You’re proactive and adaptable. Comfortable working autonomously or with cross-functional teams, especially in fast-paced or ambiguous settings.
You communicate clearly, concisely, and candidly. Our Company relies on you to assess the situation within your account and effectively communicate your assessment and recommendations.
You hold a current Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI and have the ability to access DOD facilities and installations.
You're scrappy and resourceful. You find creative solutions with limited resources, adapt quickly when plans change, and push through obstacles without waiting for perfect conditions. You make things happen.
Qualifications
Proven experience working closely with military headquarters at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels, or comparable government settings.
Exposure to staff planning, through classical training in Professional Military Education or through service experience
Familiarity and experience with major military planning exercises and/or software deployment in sensitive or constrained environments is strongly preferred.
Experience in customer support, both face-to-face and remote, and capability to respond to incidents coordinating with customers, product engineering teams, and infrastructure teams.
The technical skills to master our application, troubleshoot common issues and liaise with customers on most technical matters.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and large government organizations, making sound decisions without constant oversight.
Most importantly, you are a true Onebriefer:
You are obsessed with creating value for real users
You are ambitious, scrappy, and a creative problem-solver
You learn quickly, work iteratively, and naturally seek collaboration
You approach your work with integrity, intellectual honesty, and a low ego
You communicate frankly, clearly, and succinctly
You thrive as a self-starter, embracing autonomy and ambiguity
About the job
As a Partner Engagement Specialist, you'll work directly with TRANSCOM to ensure successful adoption and sustained value delivery of Onebrief. Your primary mission is to help military staffs adopt Onebrief and meaningfully improve how they plan, coordinate, and communicate. Your work focuses on the echelons where planning is most hands-on and fast-moving—these are the units where Onebrief often creates immediate impact, and where your understanding of headquarters dynamics will make you highly effective.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Onboarding & Adoption: Execute onboarding engagements under the guidance of senior team members. Support internal and customer-facing kickoffs to understand use cases, pain points, and technical requirements. Build strong relationships with users and mid-level stakeholders, helping make Onebrief indispensable for the commander and staff. Adapt standard playbooks to real-world conditions and contribute to expanding product usage across staff workflows through training and engagement strategies.
Sustained Customer Support: Serve as a reliable "go to person" during exercises and day-to-day operations. Provide face-to-face and remote support, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth operations. Respond to incidents by coordinating with customers and our product engineering team.
Product Feedback & Continuous Improvement: Gather and communicate product feedback from users to the product team. Clearly communicate user needs and maintain high product proficiency. Use your observations to recommend product improvements and excite customers about each enhancement.
Account Health & Growth: Develop an understanding of customer dynamics to support retention, renewals, and growth opportunities.
Your responsibilities aren't limited to this list! We're on this great adventure together, and we'll each do what it takes for the team to succeed.
What You Will Achieve
You'll work at echelons where planning is most hands-on and fast-moving. For example:
A major subordinate element is beginning to integrate Onebrief into its planning cycle. You conduct on-site or virtual training, help them map their planning workflows into the tool, and ensure they're set up for success.
The staff is preparing for an upcoming planning event or mission rehearsal. You run practical instruction, demonstrate real operational use cases, and help them build confidence applying Onebrief during execution.
The staff wants support introducing Onebrief during key working groups. You help facilitate usage, coach staff officers and NCOs, and demonstrate how the tool improves clarity and collaboration across sections.
Different user communities—operations, plans, intel, fires/effects, logistics, communications, cyber, or space—have varying levels of familiarity with the platform. You adapt your instruction and support to meet each group where they are and show how Onebrief enhances their specific workflows.
To succeed in this role: You'll need a strong understanding of operational planning at multi-star headquarters. When you speak, do lead planners listen? You'll also need technical skill. You don't need to code, but you do need to be savvy. Can you become a power user of our product and talk engineering with the customer?
