Job Summary:
As a Power BI Developer at Creative Chaos, you will design and develop interactive reports and dashboards to visualize key business metrics and support data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data, and create effective visualization solutions using Power BI.

Key Responsibilities:


Complex Data Modelling – Design, implement, and optimize Power BI semantic models, ensuring accuracy, performance, and scalability.


Advanced DAX Development – Write and optimise complex DAX measures, implement calculation groups, and apply advanced techniques to support business requirements.


Security & Governance – Configure and manage Row-Level Security (RLS), enforce governance standards, and ensure compliance with best practice modelling.


Source Control & DevOps – Use Git/Azure DevOps to create branches, manage pull requests, and merge code into main as part of structured release processes.


SQL Development – Write efficient, production-quality SQL queries to interrogate and transform datasets for integration into Power BI models.


Autonomous Delivery – Take ownership of tasks from specification through to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs with minimal supervision.


Best Practice Modelling – Champion dimensional modelling and star schema design to ensure consistency, maintainability, and performance across the reporting layer.


Dashboard & Insight Delivery – Build and enhance enterprise-grade dashboards, ensuring usability, performance, and alignment with business objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
  • Proven track record designing and publishing complex Power BI models and reports, with deep knowledge of DAX, RLS, and calculation groups
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas, and BI best practice
  • Experience with data modeling and report design best practices.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience with additional visualization tools like Tableau or QlikView is a plus.
