The Role
Based out of HQ in Brisbane, the People Partner will report to the Head of People & Culture. In this global role, you'll collaborate with leaders across APAC, NAM, and EMEA regions to support Megaport's growth. You'll lead, coach, and engage stakeholders, and support the execution of both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day operations.What You’ll Be Doing
As a trusted People Partner based in Brisbane, you'll partner with leaders across APAC to deliver practical people solutions that drive business performance and an exceptional employee experience. Working closely with the Head of People & Culture, you'll provide expert advice across the employee lifecycle, build leadership capability, and deliver people initiatives that support our global business. Your focus will be on:
Business Partnering & Leadership Coaching
Own the People Partnering relationships for assigned business groups, delivering commercially balanced people advice that aligns people strategy with business priorities.
Build trusted relationships with leaders; provide coaching on people-related matters, including performance, employee engagement, organisational change and team effectiveness.
Coach leaders to build high-performing, engaged teams. Build manager capability through coaching, guidance and practical tools that enable confident people leadership.
Partner with leaders on workforce planning, talent development, succession planning and organisational design initiatives.
Support organisational change initiatives and business transformation activities across APAC.
Employee Relations & Compliance
Manage complex employee relations matters across APAC, including performance management, misconduct, grievances and workplace conflict resolution.
Coach leaders through performance management and conduct conversations, ensuring timely, fair and consistent outcomes.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice people management across multiple jurisdictions.
Partner with Legal to manage employment-related risk and complex workplace matters.
Ensure consistent application of People policies, frameworks and governance across the business.
People Programs & Employee Experience
Partner with the People team to deliver initiatives across leadership development, talent management, succession planning and career development.
Support the delivery of employee engagement, onboarding, recognition and wellbeing programs that enhance the employee experience.
Champion Megaport's values and support initiatives that strengthen inclusion, belonging and employee wellbeing, utilising employee feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
People Operations & Continuous Improvement
Take a hands-on approach when partnering with leaders to implement People programs, including performance management, talent reviews, remuneration, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
Support the business on global mobility matters, including relocation, immigration and associated people processes.
Drive continuous improvement of People systems, policies, processes and reporting.
Manage and contribute to People & Culture projects aligned with the team's strategic priorities.
Mentor and support other members of the People & Culture team, sharing knowledge and promoting collaboration.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
7–10 years' experience in a People Partner or Senior HR Generalist role within fast-paced organisations.
Experience partnering with senior leaders across multiple countries, employment jurisdictions, and business functions.
Strong experience managing complex employee relations matters and providing commercially balanced advice.
Experience managing a small team, mentoring colleagues or leading project teams is desirable.
Experience in technology, SaaS or other fast-paced, high-growth environments is highly regarded.
Skills & Capabilities
Strong business partnering and coaching capability.
Excellent working knowledge of people practices and employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
Demonstrated ability to balance commercial outcomes with employee experience.
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
High level of resilience and adaptability.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change in a global environment.
Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset.
International HR experience supporting managers and employees across multiple countries and time zones is preferred (particularly Australia, North America and Europe).
