A specialist healthcare service is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team. This is a part-time role of 15 hours per week.

The service provides specialist mental health care in a calm, therapeutic environment, delivering evidence-based treatment programs for patients with complex psychiatric needs.


What you’ll be doing

You will join a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing, using a personalised, evidence-based approach to support recovery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and formulation for patients presenting with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related anxiety spectrum disorders.

  • Leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of specialized OCD treatment programs, integrating medication management, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other appropriate interventions.

  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, and social workers, to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.

  • Providing clinical leadership and supervision to junior psychiatrists, trainees, and other mental health professionals.

  • Contributing to research, clinical audits, and service development projects to improve treatment pathways, service efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

  • Engaging with external stakeholders, including primary care providers, community services, and patient advocacy groups, to promote awareness and ensure seamless care transitions.

What you’ll bring to the role

The work is rewarding but challenging, requiring resilience, empathy, and strong clinical expertise.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified Consultant Psychiatrist, registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.

  • Have substantial post-qualification experience diagnosing and treating OCD and related anxiety disorders, with expertise in both pharmacological and psychological interventions.

  • Have experience working within multidisciplinary teams and providing clinical leadership and supervision.

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrate commitment to research, clinical audit, and service development.

  • Deliver patient-centered care and drive improvements in clinical outcomes.
