Role Overview  

In Jikgu Engineering, our goal is to deliver a seamless end-to-end shopping journey — from product discovery and ordering through fulfillment and post-purchase support — while scaling Coupang's marketplace and logistics operations. We build core platforms and services that power Coupang's commerce engine and last-mile excellence. Various platforms under our portfolio include Marketplace Systems, Logistics Systems, Seller & Catalog Platforms, Order & Fulfillment Orchestration, and Customer Experience services spanning storefront, checkout, post-order, and customer care. ML opportunities across these portfolios include demand forecasting,inventory and capacity optimization, dynamic routing & ETA prediction, fraud and abuse detection, personalization of the shopping experience, intelligent customer support, and various others.

What You Will Do  

As a Staff Engineer within Jikgu Engineering team, you will be instrumental in architecting and developing next-generation marketplace and logistics platforms. You will lead initiatives to ensure the platform delivers end-to-end commerce capabilities including Seller Onboarding, Catalog & Listing Management, Order Capture, Fulfillment & Delivery Orchestration, Returns & Refunds, Customer Support, and Experience Performance Measurement. Design a real-time decision engine to empower downstream services across the Marketplace and Logistics ecosystem. Your expertise will directly contribute to advancing Coupang's data-driven capabilities, aligning technical innovation with strategic business objectives.

Actively work with team through the full lifestyle of solution, including platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing and deployment.
•        Provide technical tips to other programmers in the team.
•        Develop analytics with a mind toward accuracy, scalability, and high performance.
•        Actively work with team to define, design, and develop software applications.
•        Actively work with team to review the engineering design and drawing.
•        Works cross-functionally with stakeholders to define and drive feature enhancements/requirements/prioritization.
•        Set clear, measurable quality goals for the feature in a data-driven way.
•        Have the obsession to drive a better customer experience through everything that we do here at Coupang.
•        Raise the bar on functionality, flow, consistency, usability, and simplicity.

Basic Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent degree.
  •        5+years software development experience
  •        2+years hands-on experience with designing and developing on distributed architecture systems up to Tera/petabyte data handling using Open-Source software.
  •        Expert with one or more programming language such as Java/Python/Scala
  •        Understanding of architectural principles and design patterns/styles/using parallel large-scale distributed frameworks such as Hadoop/Spark
  •        Deep knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases such as HBase, MongoDB, Dynamo DB, Cassandra
  •        Demonstrates Broad knowledge of technical solutions, design patterns, and code for medium/complex applications deployed in Hadoop.
  •        Thorough understanding of service-oriented architectures and data processing in high-volume applications. Full SDLC experience (requirements gathering through production deployment)
  •        Experience with Artificial intelligence and machine learning technology is huge plus.
  •        Experience in Hadoop big data ecosystem is plus.
