We are currently seeking a skilled Underground Geotechnical Engineer to join our Northern Operations on an 8/6 FIFO roster. This is an excellent full-time opportunity, where you’ll play a critical role in maintaining ground stability, managing geotechnical risk, and supporting safe production.

This is a hands-on, site-based position where your expertise will directly influence operational outcomes, working closely with Technical Services and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and interpret geotechnical investigations and monitoring
• Assess and manage slope stability, ground conditions, and geotechnical risks
• Provide recommendations on designs, ground support, and excavation methods
• Develop and maintain geotechnical models and hazard management plans
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits
• Collaborate closely with mining, geology, and operations teams
• Prepare technical reports and documentation to support site performance

About You

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
• Strong commitment to safety and risk management
• Proficiency in Deswik or similar CAD/mining design software
• Experience with Rocscience software (e.g., Unwedge, Dips)
• Competence in geotechnical monitoring, data interpretation, and reporting
• Understanding of ground support systems and QAQC processes
• Solid working knowledge of underground mining methods and geotechnical practices
• Must hold a valid manual drivers license
