M9 Solutions is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to work remotely in support of a government contract for a client located in Washington, DC. An active Public Trust clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop an automation test strategy and execution plan aligned with release and quality objectives.
• Design, develop, and maintain UI, API, and integration automation suites with traceable coverage.
• Leverage Tricentis capabilities to support automated testing and overall quality objectives.
• Develop complex test scenarios covering edge cases, failure modes, and critical application functionality.
• Perform test execution and results analysis to identify defects and isolate root causes.
• Conduct system integration and validation testing across functional, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Develop and maintain quality control artifacts covering regression coverage, test data management, and standards compliance.
• Perform defect trend analysis and provide recommendations to improve product design, testability, and overall process quality.
• Identify and implement framework and tooling improvements that increase automation reliability, maintainability, and adoption across teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and other technical stakeholders to communicate findings, resolve defects, and continuously improve software quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Work Authorization: US Citizenship is required.
• An active Public Trust level clearance is required.
• 6 – 7 years of relevant test automation and quality engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Tricentis test automation solutions.
• Strong experience building automated tests using TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Java or C#.
• Hands-on expertise with front-end frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Angular, including component and UI testing.
• Proficiency with modern testing tools and patterns, including Testing Library, UI automation approaches, API testing, contract testing, and reliable test design.
• Experience testing backend services and microservices, including Spring Boot.
• Experience managing dependencies and builds using tools such as Maven.
• Experience with container-based integration testing, such as Testcontainers, and designing repeatable test environments.
• Ability to design and maintain scalable automation frameworks using sound engineering practices, including clean code, modularity, version control, and CI/CD integration.
• Strong troubleshooting and defect isolation skills with the ability to interpret test results and identify root causes across UI, API, data, and environment layers.
• Demonstrated ability to improve quality processes, define testing standards, and drive adoption across teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to translate testing findings into clear recommendations for engineering and product partners.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing workflows using tools such as OpenCode, Claude Code, and Gemini Vertex AI to accelerate test creation, analysis, and triage while maintaining code quality and security expectations.
