Job Description:
An opportunity for an Engineering Quality and Process Assurance Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Military Air Systems Engineering Quality Team.
The department is in charge of Quality and Process Assurance for programs developed by Military Air Systems Engineering within the perimeter of Transport and Mission Aircraft in Getafe. The team is multidisciplinary and acts as a key link between Engineering, other Quality functions, and external entities (such as National Quality Assurance Representatives and Customers), driving a proactive and preventive Quality culture across the full end-to-end (E2E) development cycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
- Plan and execute E2E Engineering Quality activities, including Process Assurance Plans, Technical Reviews, Quality Gates, and Functional Configuration Audits (FCA).
- Deploy Quality methods and risk prevention tools across development programs (APQP, DFMEA, PPS, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and First Installation Checks).
- Interface with key internal and external stakeholders, such as Chief Engineering, Production, Services, external auditors, and Government National Quality Representatives.
- Manage non-conformities and quality anomalies, supporting root cause analysis, tracking KPIs, and driving corrective action initiatives to ensure right-first-time design deliverables.
- Support the Business Management System (BMS) and audits, ensuring compliance with EN9100, updating processes, and promoting a strong quality mindset.
- Drive continuous improvement projects, identifying weak points, managing risks, and fostering lessons-learned knowledge sharing across the organization.
SKILLS

- Education: Grade, Degree, or Master in Engineering (Systems, Aeronautical, Industrial, or related technological family).
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in Engineering; background in a Design organization is required.
- Soft skills: High adaptability to work in networking mode, strong communication skills, continuous improvement mindset, and customer orientation.
- Languages: Advanced level in English and Spanish (both written & spoken).
- Technical knowledge: In-depth understanding of Systems Engineering, Quality Management Systems (e.g., EN9100), APQP, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis (PPS, 5Whys), and Process Assurance Review (PAR) methodologies.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Previous experience within Airbus or aeronautical design organization environments.
