Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world.  We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation.

Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to provide manufacturing engineering expertise across Evolito’s supply chain, ensuring our suppliers have the manufacturing capability, capacity, tooling, equipment and robust processes needed to support product development, industrialisation and production ramp-up. The role will involve regular travel to supplier locations globally to assess manufacturing readiness, support industrialisation activity and build effective working relationships with key suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading supplier industrialisation activities for new and existing products, ensuring suppliers achieve manufacturing readiness aligned to programme milestones

  • Assessing supplier manufacturing capability, capacity, equipment, tooling, labour planning and process maturity to support production ramp-up requirements

  • Supporting supplier selection activities through technical capability assessments and manufacturing due diligence

  • Collaborating with Design Engineering to ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Supply Chain principles are incorporated during product development

  • Supporting the development and implementation of Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs) and industrialisation plans across key suppliers in line with AS13100, AS9100 and full PPAP

  • Reviewing supplier manufacturing methods, production processes, tooling concepts and production strategies to ensure alignment with product and programme requirements

  • Supporting the introduction, qualification and commissioning of new production tooling, equipment and manufacturing technologies within the supply chain

  • Identifying manufacturing and industrialisation risks within the supply base and developing mitigation plans to support programme delivery and production objectives

  • Providing technical input into supplier capacity planning, production ramp-up strategies and business continuity planning.

  • Supporting make-versus-buy assessments, manufacturing feasibility studies and sourcing decisions through provision of technical manufacturing expertise

  • Contributing manufacturing cost estimates, should-cost analysis and production assumptions to support business cases, sourcing activities and proposal development

  • Supporting contract manufacturers and suppliers during NPI, prototype, development and production transition activities

  • Defining manufacturing requirements for externally sourced components, assemblies and special processes during product development and industrialisation

  • Acting as the manufacturing engineering interface between suppliers and cross-functional teams including Procurement, Supplier Quality, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Programme Management

  • Supporting continuous improvement of industrialisation processes, manufacturing readiness frameworks and supply chain capability within Evolito

  • Conducting regular visits to supplier sites globally to assess manufacturing capability, support industrialisation activities and monitor production readiness

  • Building effective working relationships with supplier manufacturing, operations and engineering teams to support successful programme delivery.

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered

  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialisation, supplier industrialisation or new product introduction within aerospace, defence, automotive or other highly regulated industries

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production system design and industrialisation planning

  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Supply Chain principles

  • Experience assessing manufacturing capability, capacity, tooling, equipment and production readiness, including PFMEAs, control plans and PPAP requirements

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs), production validation methodologies and industrialisation best practice.

  • Familiarity with a range of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, additive manufacturing, electronics assembly, PCB manufacture, composites and special processes

  • Understanding of aerospace regulatory and quality frameworks including AS13100, AS9100, AS9145 and AS9102

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify manufacturing risks and develop practical solutions

  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple supplier workstreams and programme priorities

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence internal and external technical decisions

  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally to support supplier assessments and industrialisation activities.
