Position Summary
Applied Materials is seeking an experienced senior leader to serve as the Global TSMC Customer Quality Head, responsible for leading worldwide customer quality engagement with TSMC and driving strategic alignment across global regions.
This role requires a highly experienced customer-facing leader with deep semiconductor industry knowledge, strong executive stakeholder management capabilities, and proven success leading global organizations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting TSMC as a strategic account, managing complex customer relationships, and driving cross-functional collaboration across international teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Global TSMC Customer Quality Head and lead worldwide customer quality engagement for Applied Materials' strategic partnership with TSMC.
- Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with key TSMC stakeholders across global sites, acting as the primary customer quality representative and escalation point for critical issues.
- Lead, coach, and develop a global organization of customer quality leaders and managers, driving alignment of strategies, priorities, best-known methods (BKMs), and operational execution across regions.
- Ensure customer expectations, requirements, and business priorities are understood and effectively translated into actions across Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Operations, Product Business Groups, and Quality organizations.
- Drive the resolution of complex customer issues through cross-functional collaboration, balancing customer needs with business objectives while ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
- Influence senior internal and external stakeholders to strengthen customer satisfaction, improve operational performance, and advance long-term strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer quality performance, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the global organization.
- Develop and execute customer quality strategies that support business growth, strengthen executive customer relationships, and reinforce Applied Materials' position as a trusted partner to TSMC.
- Provide leadership in a highly matrixed global environment, ensuring consistent customer support and operational excellence across multiple regions and cultures.
- Travel globally as required to support customer engagements, executive reviews, organizational leadership, and business-critical initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience, with significant exposure to customer-facing leadership roles.
- Proven experience supporting or managing strategic relationships with TSMC.
- Extensive experience leading large organizations through multiple layers of management.
- Demonstrated success managing global, cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong executive communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to lead issue resolution involving multiple organizations, regions, and business units.
- Experience operating in a highly matrixed global organization.
Travel Requirements
- This is a highly global customer-facing role requiring flexibility to travel internationally as business needs dictate.
- Frequent travel to customer locations and Applied Materials sites across Taiwan, the United States, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and other global regions is expected.
