This role serves as the primary Site Lead and decision-maker for all transition activities, directing end-to-end execution while assuming full accountability for project performance, governance, and the delivery of the top-level transition plan. Enforces and audits adherence to transition processes to mitigate systemic risk, while steering strategic planning and high-impact decisions for transitions of global scope to ensure long-term organizational stability.

Orchestrates and aligns diverse cross-functional business groups to guarantee the integrity and velocity of the transition roadmap. This position drives high-performance behaviors and enforces end-to-end accountability for organizational readiness, ensuring that cross-functional collaboration is optimized to meet critical global timelines and readiness plans.

The Site Transition Manager is responsible for diagnosing systemic issues and identifying high-impact opportunities that fall outside standard operational parameters. This role synthesizes complex risks and provides strategic recommendations to Site and Global Leadership, directing the necessary mitigation efforts to safeguard end-delivery requirements and the long-term success of the product transition.

  • Partners with the Site Leadership team to secure executive sponsorship for transition activities, directs the resolution of systemic issues, and architects the governance framework required to ensure the success of all work transfers to the site.
  • Leads the design and creation of transition plans, ensuring rigorous application of standard tools, BMDLs, and Standard Work to guarantee operational readiness.
  • Governs project milestones and delivery metrics, proactively mitigating systemic risks to ensure the high-performance execution of the transition plan.
  • Directs the strategic alignment between Commercial Aircraft Group strategies and Site Leadership, establishing robust frameworks to communicate and prepare the site for upcoming transition workstreams.
  • Drive cross-functional integration across Commercial Groups, Sites, and key functions (Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Programs) to ensure seamless execution of transition initiatives.
  • Establishes and governs performance metrics to ensure transition health is accurately trended, providing actionable insights to leadership to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Establishes and governs the risk management framework to provide executive-level visibility into transition risks, quantifying business impact and driving proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Exercises decisive leadership and high-level influence to resolve critical bottlenecks, ensuring cross-functional teams maintain schedule integrity and mitigate risks to the master transition plan.
  • Chairs and directs cross-functional governance forums across manufacturing sites and suppliers, driving the rapid resolution of critical project challenges to maintain transition momentum.
  • Diagnoses systemic issues and high-impact opportunities outside standard operations, providing strategic recommendations to Global Leadership to mitigate risks and safeguard part transition requirements.
  • Cultivates a high-performance organization by driving the professional development, mentorship, and technical mastery of Project Managers within the transition team.
  • Drives the execution of Site and Commercial Aircraft Group strategies, ensuring all transition initiatives meet or exceed established cost targets and business case objectives.
  • Execute additional strategic initiatives and operational tasks as required to support the evolving needs of the department and the organization.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; an MBA or advanced technical degree is highly desirable.
  • Professional Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership in Project/Program Management, Supply Chain, or Product Engineering, specifically within high-precision manufacturing.
  • Transition Expertise: Extensive experience leading large-scale, cross-border work transfer initiatives and managing portfolios of highly complex, business-critical projects.
  • Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated strategic leadership with the ability to influence Site and Global Leadership teams and drive alignment across diverse, cross-functional organizations.
  • Operational Excellence: Proven mastery of Continuous Improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • People Management: Strong history of mentoring and developing high-performing project management talent and leading through emotional intelligence.
