About the role
MSS Security is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our team at Monash University, Parkville.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day security operations across the site, supporting and guiding security officers, and ensuring a consistently high standard of service is delivered to students, staff, visitors and key stakeholders.

You will be a visible and approachable leader on site, responsible for coordinating the team, responding to incidents, maintaining site security standards and acting as a key point of contact between MSS Security and Monash University.

Duties include:

• Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the security team on site.

• Provide leadership, direction and support to Security Officers.

• Conduct regular site patrols and ensure buildings, facilities and surrounding areas remain safe and secure.

• Coordinate security responses to incidents, emergencies and other site issues.

• Act as a key point of contact for Monash University staff, students, visitors and other stakeholders.

• Ensure officers are following site procedures, security protocols and client requirements.

• Monitor officer performance, presentation and adherence to expected service standards.

• Coordinate escorts, access requirements, lock/unlock procedures and other site-specific security activities.

• Ensure clear and effective communication across the security team.

• Escalate incidents and operational matters appropriately to MSS Security and Monash University management.

• Support the onboarding, training and development of security officers on site.

• Maintain a professional and customer-focused security presence across the campus.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Proven experience in a Security Supervisor, Site Supervisor or senior security position.

•  Strong leadership and people-management skills.

•  Previous experience working within a security environment, preferably across a large site or campus.  

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.  

• Strong customer service skills and professional presentation.  

• Sound knowledge of incident management, reporting and security procedures.  

• Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations.  Ability to work collaboratively with security teams, clients and emergency services.  

• Physically capable of conducting regular site patrols and remaining active throughout the shift.

• Assist with incident management, investigations and accurate report writing.

Requirements:

• Full Australian working rights.  

• Valid Victorian Security License.  

• Valid Victorian Driver's License with no restrictions.  

• Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain).  

• First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain).
