About you and this role

The Dow Consumer Solution (DCS) is seeking a Senior Sales Specialist to focus on offering technologies & products that achieve a number of high-performance attributes across six key market segments in Sub-Saharan Africa. This position focuses on the B&I (Building and Infrastructure) Segment, which provides high-value solutions for disruptive markets/technologies using Dow's unique Silicone Technologies. Through application expertise and innovation, our vast technical resources address current and future needs.

Responsibilities

• Exploring new opportunities directly with customers/applications or working with distributors.
• Maintain and expand the account portfolio and Dow presence in the region.
• Understand customer needs to differentiate Dow and gain market share.
• Search for new product development opportunities in the market.
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers and expand network within a customer's organization at multiple levels.
• Execute the sales/marketing plan, delivering volume and value. Develop the sales plan aligned with the marketing plan in coordination with other functions.
• Develop sales forecasts in coordination with Product Lines and Supply Chain.
• Collects and utilizes market intelligence to shape a sales plan. Obtain and analyze data to decide on new product development.
• Leads and conducts negotiations and develops and implements price strategies aligned with business goals. This is done considering legal implications, customs regulations and Dow sales processes.
• Collaborates with other functions and stakeholders to deliver Customer Experience results.

Qualifications

• Associated bachelor’s degree with relevant experience
• Excellent English verbal and communication skills
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to travel into Africa for 50% of the time.
• Previous chemical sales is an advantage
