Job Description

If you are seeking growth opportunities personally and professionally, we invite you to explore your career options at Ultra I&C.Encryption Management, a division of Ultra I&C, is currently seeking a full-time Project Engineer to work from our Tampa, FL location. The successful candidate will support our current and future embedded cryptographic development (crypto) programs for various mission critical applications. This position may require travel (approximately 10%) to support customer meetings and off-site development/testing.
- Act as the technical lead for mid-size projects working with software, hardware, firmware, systems and test engineering
- Provide overall technical direction, guidance, development, and technical schedule execution of project
- Assist Program Manager (PM) in creating and maintaining programmatic documentation (e.g., schedules, work packages, status reports, technical CDRLs) to ensure efficient planning and execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules (in MS Project), to provide weekly updates including resource level loading and baseline management for technical execution
- Work with engineers to identify required tasking and estimating level of effort to perform tasks, inputting data into MS Project
- Track engineering progress on estimations and deliverables
- Interact with customers for weekly/monthly status via technical interchange meetings
- Conduct/support internal/external customer program milestone reviews to include presentation material development.
- Lead trade studies and architecture development
- Implement the engineering development process within a project
- Implement and support configuration management process and configuration control board meetings
- Support proposal development for follow on work and/or new programs.
- Manage deadlines and priorities as well as provide problem-solving skills.
- Support PM in identifying, tracking and mitigating programmatic and technical risks.
- Support PM in preparation and presentation of programmatic updates at monthly project executive reviews.
Required:
- This position requires a US Government Security Clearance at the Secret Security Level. Clearances are granted to US Citizens.
- Bachelor of Science (or greater) Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- 7+ years’ experience in related field with proven track record of success working in multi-disciplined team.
- Demonstrated success in full lifecycle product development in both waterfall and agile methodologies and configuration management of produced artifacts.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office tools including Project, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing and document development skills.
- Ability to interact with customers and contract representatives.
- Understand business objectives, priorities, and company’s vision. Proactively assess and adjust team’s objectives, priorities, and tasks so that they remain aligned with higher level objectives and vision
- Requires strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills with the ability to adapt skills to various analytical situations
- Strong coordination, organization, and teaming abilities.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to lead complex tasks.
Desired Skills:
- Top Secret Clearance.
- 10+ years’ experience in related field with proven track record of success working in multi-disciplined team.
- Execution of full ruggedized product development from inception to fielding utilizing Embedded Software and Firmware on System-on-Chip technology.
- Act as a technical expert in Software and/or Firmware development and troubleshooting.
- Experience in Cryptographic Product Development and programmatic milestones, such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), etc.
- Background in DoD Communications Security and/or use in the field:
- Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) knowledge
- Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) knowledge
- Knowledgeable on EKMS Tier 2 Applications
- Knowledgeable on Tier 3 Electronic Key Fill Devices
- COMSEC Trained/Briefed.
- NSA High Assurance Certification experience.
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
- Proactively keep abreast of relevant cutting-edge technologies.
- Keep team productive, busy, progressing, and engaged.
- Visualize project outcomes and understand/manage risks.
- Need to Out-of-the-box thinking; go beyond project requirements; able to anticipate future needs and take necessary action.
