Senior Product Designer - Onboarding & Activation
Product Design
Ebury London Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to help shape the future of Ebury’s onboarding and activation experiences. You’ll work on some of the most complex and important parts of our product - helping businesses successfully onboard, verify their identity and access Ebury’s financial services while balancing customer needs, regulatory requirements, risk controls and operational efficiency.
In this role, you’ll own end-to-end design across onboarding and activation journeys - spanning customer-facing experiences and internal operational workflows. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, Compliance and Risk teams to define problems, simplify complexity and deliver experiences that help customers successfully start and grow with Ebury.
This role may be hired at Product Designer II (Level 3) or Senior Product Designer (Level 4), depending on the level of autonomy, product judgement and scope demonstrated through the interview process.
What you’ll do
-
Own end-to-end design for onboarding and activation journeys, from discovery and problem definition through detailed design, implementation and launch.
-
Design experiences across customer-facing onboarding flows and internal operational workflows, balancing user needs, business goals, compliance requirements and operational realities.
-
Simplify complex, multi-step processes such as identity verification, KYB/KYC requirements, document collection, review processes and account activation.
-
Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, Compliance and Risk teams to identify high-impact problems, align priorities and deliver meaningful improvements.
-
Design responsive experiences across web and mobile, ensuring onboarding journeys feel clear, consistent and intuitive across devices and platforms.
-
Partner with mobile designers and engineers to shape mobile-first experiences and ensure onboarding workflows translate effectively into native mobile environments.
-
Create elegant, intuitive solutions with strong interaction design and visual craft, paying close attention to states, edge cases, error handling and moments of uncertainty.
-
Prototype, test and iterate quickly using research, data and feedback to validate ideas and improve customer outcomes.
-
Use modern tools such as Claude, Codex, Figma Make or other AI-assisted workflows to accelerate exploration, prototype solutions, test assumptions and improve your workflow.
-
Explore new ways of working that help move from ambiguity to tangible solutions faster, while maintaining a high bar for quality and customer experience.
-
Contribute to and extend our design system, improving reusable patterns and components that help teams ship consistent experiences faster.
-
Partner closely with Engineering through implementation to ensure quality, accessibility and polish at launch.
-
Contribute to design culture through critiques, workshops and reviews - raising the bar through craft, collaboration and thoughtful problem solving.
What you’ll need
-
Relevant professional experience within UX or Product Design, with scope and expectations assessed according to Level 3 or Level 4.
-
A portfolio demonstrating strong product thinking, problem solving and craft, including examples of complex workflows, journeys or products where you simplified difficult problems for users.
-
Experience designing complex digital experiences, ideally within fintech, financial services, SaaS, healthcare, legal technology or other regulated environments.
-
Experience designing onboarding, identity verification, KYB/KYC, compliance, risk or workflow-heavy products is highly desirable.
-
Strong understanding of how to balance user experience with business requirements, regulatory constraints and operational needs.
-
Experience designing responsive and adaptive experiences across web and mobile, with an understanding of platform conventions and constraints.
-
Strong interaction design skills, including information architecture, flows, states, edge cases and system thinking.
-
Strong product thinking, with the ability to identify opportunities, make deliberate trade-offs and use data and research to inform decisions.
-
Curiosity and creativity in how you approach problems. We care less about proficiency in a specific AI tool and more about your ability to break down problems, question assumptions, experiment quickly and find better ways to move from an idea to a validated solution.
-
Comfort working beyond traditional design boundaries - using prototypes, AI-assisted tools, code, data or other methods when they help you better understand or solve a problem.
-
Proven collaboration skills across Design, Product, Engineering and cross-functional teams.
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders.
-
Ability to balance and prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
