The opportunity
The Mechanical Plant Design team, part of HVDC, is now looking for a Mechanical Plant Design Engineer to join. You are welcome into our energetic team with mix of experienced and young engineers and colleagues from diverse nationalities around the world. In this role, you will work closely within the various design teams and collaborate with engineering and research teams in Sweden and abroad.
The role is based in Ludvika and requires frequent presence at our office, with flexibility of hybrid working.
How you’ll make an impact
- Demonstrating knowledge in advanced high-end CAD software(s) to ensure CAD activities, 3D-modelling in parts and assembly's in different levels, 2D-drafting for drawings and layouts are delivered on time and meet quality standard.
- Being familiar with the design principles, guidelines and applicable standards used within electromechanical plant design of HVDC stations, both onshore and offshore.
- Evaluating, selecting and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform Station layout design, building requirements inputs to civil designer, installation drawings and detail design of steel support, connectors, insulators etc.
- Preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours etc.
- Preparing project documentation and demonstrating effective interaction with customers, suppliers and contractors to achieve his/her scope of deliveries.
- Ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks.
Your background
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in 3D-Modeling and preforming 2D-drawings/layouts in Software tools NX/TC.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new Technologies.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
- Some years of experience in substation engineering or similar.
- Experience in substation engineering of High Voltage/Extra High Voltage substation Project.
