The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Pricing Solutions in our US Structural Heart business, which is leading the way for structural heart therapies and challenging current treatment options to change the course of patient care. With a comprehensive portfolio designed to treat a broad range of patients with structural heart diseases, from infants to elderly patients.

The preferred location for this position is Austin, TX but may consider Santa Clara, CA or Plymouth, MN. The role is pivotal in supporting the development and driving the execution of our pricing strategies and tactical plans for our existing and future Structural Heart product portfolio. The position plays an essential role in the decision-making for healthy growth (revenue and margin) of the US Structural Heart business. The role collaborates with Marketing, Finance, Commercial and Enterprise sales leadership and will lead all pricing aspects (price setting, pricing process, governance, analytics and contracting strategies) related to the respective pipeline for the US business. This position reports to the Sr. Director Global Strategic Pricing & IBP within the Global Commercial Operations group. The role requires excellent strategic and analytical skills as well as communication and presentations skills.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with US Commercial leadership (Sales, Marketing, Finance) to analyze the product portfolio and develop/maintain/revise the product pricing strategy incl. target pricing, volume-tiers, floor pricing and contracting strategies
• In close cooperation with Marketing and Finance conduct regular pricing reviews to effectively organize and manage positioning and pricing across the lifecycle accounting for competitive price changes, inflation, changes in demand, sales strategy, and positioning strategy
• Identify developments in the pricing environment to evaluate the potential impact on Abbott Structural Heart and proactively identify strategies and actions
• Provide market inputs and assumptions into annual brand planning, LRP process as well as monthly IBP meetings and develop price forecasts
• Cooperate with Enterprise Sales Team on pricing and contracting processes in the US, develop pricing strategies and analytics (e.g. contract compliance, effectiveness, impact)
• Develop and provide pricing analytics (leading and lacking) to support development and/or adjustments to pricing strategies to increase share gains and protect/increase margin
• Work closely with Marketing to gather customer and competitive intelligence to establish a value differentiated pricing approach for new product launches
• Align with Commercial Excellence organization to ensure tools and processes support pricing strategy/approach and are being fully utilized

Experience You’ll Bring

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business, Finance or Marketing required
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in pricing/strategy in healthcare environment
• Knowledge of US healthcare economics and price modeling
• Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, including forecasting and pricing
• Demonstrated ability to operate within a matrix structure and effectively collaborate, build productive relationships and lead and influence at all levels of the organization and across cultures
• Excellent verbal and communications skills

Preferred

• MBA, or other advanced degree relevant to the position is preferred
• Strong customer orientation and focus
• Demonstrated ability to execute in a fast-paced results-driven organization through a high-level of personal motivation and enthusiasm
• Strong commercial orientation with a balance of operational and strategic business management capabilities in the medical device industry

     

The base pay for this position is

$129,300.00 – $258,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
