As a senior member of the team, you will act as a subject matter expert in fraud incident management, helping establish best practices and mature the Fraud Response Program. You will collaborate with business and technical leaders to drive accountability, coordinate remediation efforts, and ensure lessons learned are translated into meaningful process, control, and technology improvements that reduce fraud risk and enhance the customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end management of fraud incidents, ensuring timely stakeholder engagement, communication, escalation, and resolution.

  • Support fraud investigations through data collection, research, documentation, intelligence gathering, and root cause analysis.

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Customer Support teams to assess fraud incidents and drive effective remediation efforts.

  • Prepare incident summaries, timelines, business impact assessments, and executive-ready communications related to fraud events.

  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify process, control, technology, and operational vulnerabilities that contributed to fraud incidents.

  • Track fraud-related issues, remediation plans, risk mitigation activities, and action items through completion, ensuring accountability across stakeholder teams.

  • Identify fraud trends, recurring issues, and emerging risks and provide recommendations for improving fraud prevention, detection, and response capabilities.

  • Support the development and maintenance of the Fraud Response Program, including incident management standards, procedures, reporting, and governance processes.

  • Assist in the preparation of governance materials, program updates, fraud loss reporting, risk dashboards, and executive presentations.

  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and working sessions focused on fraud incidents, remediation activities, and strategic fraud initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to improve fraud response processes, escalation procedures, and operational effectiveness.

  • Contribute to the identification of process improvements, control enhancements, automation opportunities, and fraud risk reduction initiatives.

  • Promote lessons learned and best practices from fraud incidents and investigations to strengthen fraud management capabilities.

  • Serve as a trusted resource and mentor to less experienced team members on fraud incident management and investigation best practices.

  • Participate on fraud calls to respond and support fraud incidents occurring outside standard business hours as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, Information Security, Data Analytics, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in fraud investigations, fraud operations, fraud risk management, financial crimes, banking operations, fraud analytics, incident response, or related disciplines.

  • Experience supporting complex fraud investigations involving account takeover (ATO), payment fraud, wire and ACH fraud, check fraud, identity fraud, scams, synthetic identity fraud, or other customer-impacting fraud events.

  • Strong understanding of banking operations, deposit products, digital banking platforms, payment systems, and fraud risk management practices.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional investigations and remediation efforts involving Product, Engineering, Security, and Customer Support teams.

  • Working knowledge of fraud detection tools, case management platforms, fraud monitoring systems, and fraud analytics methodologies.

  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and developing actionable recommendations to address fraud-related control, process, or technology gaps.

  • Ability to analyze fraud-related data, identify trends, assess customer impact, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Experience tracking remediation efforts, managing action plans, and driving accountability across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex fraud issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience preparing presentations, executive summaries, governance updates, and incident reporting materials.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently assess and escalate fraud risks.

  • Experience interacting with senior leaders and influencing outcomes across organizational boundaries.
