Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Infrastructure and Backend Engineers to support critical production services running on Google Cloud Platform.
The role combines GCP infrastructure, Python backend engineering, Cloud Run, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, SQL, and distributed systems. You will take hands-on ownership of deployments, uptime, production incidents, bug fixes, and support across highly concurrent workloads.
CONTRACT: Short-term contractor assignment, 3 months
COMMITMENT: 8 hours per day with 6–8 hours of PST overlap
LOCATIONS: Remote — LATAM
PROCESS: Resume review followed by a delivery interview
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor production deployments on GCP.
- Maintain reliability, uptime, and performance across distributed services.
- Support and troubleshoot workloads running on Google Cloud Run.
- Debug backend, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
- Maintain and improve Python-based production services.
- Troubleshoot failures across highly concurrent workloads and large container fleets.
- Work with Kubernetes and containerized production environments.
- Respond independently to operational incidents and technical support requests.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on service improvements.
- Document recurring issues, fixes, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, backend engineering, or production systems.
- Strong production experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly Cloud Run.
- Advanced Python backend development experience, including debugging and maintaining production services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases and distributed systems.
- Experience operating highly concurrent production workloads.
