Job Summary

As a part of the enterprise clinical organization and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, the Sr. Advisor, Clinical AI and Technology Program Execution will manage the portfolio and program management processes that move clinical AI and technology opportunities from intake through prioritization, decision-making, execution oversight, measurement, and learning. This role is responsible for ensuring visibility across the clinical AI and technology portfolio, tracking progress against cross-enterprise goals, monitoring dependencies and risks, and ensuring owners are aligned on tasks, timelines, and risk management while stakeholders are engaged in required toll gates and approvals.

The ideal candidate will bring strong portfolio discipline, enterprise program management experience, executive communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed healthcare environment. This position partners closely with clinical AI and technology leaders and works across business and clinical stakeholders, along with enterprise functions, including technology, data and analytics, and finance teams to connect parallel planning and execution efforts into one integrated view of progress, dependencies, risks, decisions, and actions aligned to enterprise goals. This role reports to the Principal, Enterprise Clinical Programs – Technology + AI Strategic Initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute the clinical AI and technology portfolio management process across intake, prioritization, decision readiness, execution oversight, value measurement, and ongoing portfolio learning.
  • Create and maintain a transparent enterprise view of clinical AI and technology opportunities, including business-generated and clinical AI-generated ideas, portfolio stage, sponsors, owners, clinical problem statements, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and next actions.
  • Ensure leaders have clear visibility to portfolio and program progress, cross-enterprise goals, key milestones, critical dependencies, risks, issues, decisions needed, and actions required to keep work moving forward.
  • Partner with clinical AI strategy, clinical design and delivery, business stakeholders, product, technology, data and analytics, finance, and vendor partners to align initiatives to enterprise priorities and clinical value opportunities.
  • Coordinate the translation of approved clinical AI and technology strategies and leadership decisions into actionable plans, integrated timelines, ownership models, readiness checkpoints, and execution tracking.
  • Support problem-first opportunity development by organizing inputs related to clinical need, member and provider experience, data availability, workflow impact, technology fit, operational feasibility, value hypothesis, and measurement approach.
  • Prepare governance and leadership materials that enable clear decisions, including portfolio updates, prioritization summaries, decision briefs, risk and dependency views, value measurement summaries, and executive-ready recommendations.
  • Document and track leadership decisions, open issues, assumptions, accountable owners, due dates, and follow-up actions to support disciplined execution, timely follow-through, and alignment on tasks, timelines, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate stakeholder participation in required toll gates, approvals, readiness reviews, and decision forums to ensure the right contributors are engaged at the right time.
  • Monitor cross-functional dependencies across business, clinical, product, technology, analytics, compliance, finance, implementation, and vendor workstreams; escalate material risks, timing concerns, or sequencing conflicts as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with clinical design and delivery partners to ensure clinical workflow, clinical excellence, safety, adoption, implementation readiness, and measurement considerations are visible within the broader execution plan.
  • Apply approved portfolio criteria, investment logic, governance requirements, and value-realization practices to support consistent decision-making and portfolio discipline.
  • Improve templates, processes, artifacts, forums, reporting routines, and systems of record that increase clarity, repeatability, speed, and accountability across the clinical AI and technology portfolio.
  • Develop concise executive communications that synthesize complex, cross-functional work into clear progress updates, risks, tradeoffs, decisions needed, and value-oriented recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Significant experience 5+ years in portfolio management, program management, PMO leadership, strategy execution, transformation, or complex enterprise initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple interdependent workstreams in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience with portfolio governance, integrated planning, executive reporting, dependency management, risk escalation, and decision tracking.
  • Strong facilitation, synthesis, written communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to translate established strategy and leadership decisions into coordinated plans, milestones, ownership, and execution visibility.
  • Comfort operating through ambiguity while maintaining disciplined processes and transparent follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable insights for executive and cross-functional audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare, payer, clinical, digital health, data, analytics, or artificial intelligence experience.
  • Experience in regulated or clinically sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, clinical governance, value realization, or measurement planning.
  • Portfolio, program, project, agile, change-management, or process-improvement credentials.
