The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical oversight and healthcare coordination for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving residential services throughout Ocean County. As part of the Residential Services team, you'll oversee individualized healthcare needs, coordinate with medical providers, guide nursing and direct support staff, and help ensure individuals receive quality healthcare that supports their independence and overall well-being. Your clinical knowledge will play an important role in helping individuals live healthy, active, and meaningful lives in their communities.

Salary: $88,816 Annually
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Locations: Agency Residential Programs and Community-Based Sites Throughout Ocean County
Your Clinical Impact
Oversee Individualized Healthcare
- Complete nursing assessments and monitor the health status of individuals receiving residential services.
- Create, carry out, and evaluate individualized healthcare plans designed to promote wellness and quality of life.
- Coordinate healthcare services with physicians, specialists, therapists, pharmacies, and other medical professionals.
- Advocate for individuals during medical appointments and ensure recommended follow-up and continuity of care.
- Identify changes in health status, address emerging concerns, and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
Strengthen the Healthcare Team
- Supervise and provide support to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Medical Case Managers, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs).
- Provide residential staff with medication administration training, clinical education, and ongoing nursing guidance.
- Act as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary teams by providing consultation and recommendations related to individual healthcare needs.
- Promote collaboration, continued learning, and person-centered healthcare practices among clinical and support staff.
Advance Clinical Quality
- Review medical records and documentation to promote accuracy, completeness, and compliance with nursing standards and agency policies.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts focused on strengthening healthcare services throughout Residential Programs.
- Help evaluate clinical procedures, nursing protocols, and regulatory requirements to support consistent adherence to best practices.
- Provide clinical consultation to vocational and day program services when healthcare needs arise.
Coordinate Care & Build Partnerships
- Work collaboratively with families, guardians, physicians, hospitals, behavioral health providers, support coordinators, and community partners.
- Keep agency leadership and interdisciplinary teams informed about medical concerns, treatment plans, and ongoing healthcare needs.
- Participate in audits, licensing reviews, investigations, and regulatory inspections.
- Support compliance with DDD, DHS, DCF, and other applicable standards and requirements.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of New Jersey.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
- At least one (1) year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Completion of all required DDD training requirements and maintenance of current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Successful completion of all required background screenings, including CHRC, CARI, Central Registry, and applicable drug testing requirements.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, transferring, or assisting with up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Prior experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
