We are now looking for a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager Professional Services to join our team.

If you are an experienced purchasing and category management professional who thrives in complex supplier relationship management, supplier strategy, and delivering commercial impact at a global scale, this role could be for you. You will build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and influence demand management across the Professional Services category. You will lead category planning and purchasing for selected business functions, such as finance, outsourced services, legal services, management consulting, marketing and HR, as well as selected business applications. The final scope will be refined based on the selected candidate’s profile.

To succeed in this role, you will create value across the categories and strengthen relationships both internally and externally. You will work closely with senior leaders and executives in global functions. Our aim is to work proactively, better anticipate demand, simplify processes, and identify new suppliers where needed to further increase value — supporting KONE’s ambition to be the easiest to work for and to work with.

Main responsibilities

  • Work closely with global category managers, key stakeholders, and business function management teams to build category strategies aligned with broader organizational goals.

  • Lead cross-functional category collaboration to ensure buy-in and successful end-to-end implementation of category strategies across functions and business lines.

  • Act as the purchasing subject matter expert for the assigned categories.

  • Execute global transformation programs based on category strategies and business plans.

  • Drive change management and innovation with strategic suppliers and the business.

  • Identify, initiate, and implement cost-saving opportunities to ensure savings targets are met.

  • Run RfX processes and lead negotiations and contract management for selected suppliers to secure cost-efficient, high-quality services.

Requirements for the role

  • A master’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in purchasing, category management, or a relevant business role, including 35 years within Professional Services and Temporary Labor categories.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives, with strong project and change management skills.

  • Proven experience in tendering and managing major outsourcing service contracts.

  • Experience in HQ or group function roles is considered an asset.

  • Strong expertise in purchasing and sourcing strategies, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.

  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Extensive experience in change management and senior stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market trends, optimize category plans, simplify complexity, and apply a data-driven mindset. Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • A proactive, can-do attitude and collaborative way of working.

  • Passion for success and continuous learning.

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
