We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Summary:

Support Workforce program and highly-related Field of Study (FOS) program outcomes through the direction of dean/associate dean/director. Develop outreach and student recruitment activities, provide career counseling, assist in the career placement of students and graduates for programs, and provide tracking to enhance/document student success. Develop strategies to help students progress towards completion and/or to transfer to other degree plans.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist currently enrolled students who are monitored by program coaches with establishing and revising course schedules, recommending courses, and determining appropriate educational solutions to overcome barriers to student success. Conduct audits to monitor student progress and proactively identify bottlenecks to facilitate retention and completion.

  • Maintain a student contact strategy and communication cadence for students in supported programs. As necessary, collaborate with stakeholders to conduct class visits to advise and inform students.

  • Compare student outcomes over time and by the program. Establishing and maintaining tracking/reporting processes of students, cohorts, and program health. Provide feedback to supervisor, advisory committees, and discipline leads/directors to help inform program schedule construction.

  • Where applicable, support students with the bachelor's degree matriculation process, program orientation, and other points in the student lifecycle. Educate and refer students to appropriate internal and external resources.

  • Collaborate with Student Enrollment Services (SES) personnel, as needed, to support enrollment, retention, and completion activities.

  • Collaborate with apprenticeship personnel to help guide and track students in apprenticeship programs.

  • Provide the non-curriculum aspects of assigned programs, such as business and industry connections, and assist with external learning experiences (i.e., apprenticeships, internships, and cooperative work experience) for students in programs.

  • Develop data systems to track students based on program major declaration, produce and preserve program/student records for tracking students for success.

  • Participate in the development and marketing of program pathways to students and potential students and track them for success.

  • Provide career coaching and counseling in an effort to assist students in developing the competencies required to make informed decisions concerning career goals. This may include working in collaboration with faculty or for events that relate to evaluating portfolios, assisting in interview preparation and mock interviews, outlining career options and opportunities related to their personal and professional objectives, and tracking graduates after placement for outcomes surveys.

  • Develop and present workshops, programming, and occupational information to various audiences.

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of dual credit pathways to relevant programs.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of program enrollment management, including the production of up-to-date marketing materials, website, and recruitment activities.

  • Attend and participate in professional development activities, serve on districtwide committees, and participate in service to the college.

  • Support discipline leads and administration during Fall and Spring industry advising meetings.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student records (in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), organizational plans, and personnel actions. As necessary, serve as a liaison between the student, administrative staff, faculty, SES, Financial Aid, and the dean of students.

Supplemental Functions

  • Work varied hours including days, evenings, and Saturdays.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Perform all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and Core Values.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of workforce and field of study programs

  • Knowledge of marketing, recruitment, and industry essentials pertaining to the programs assigned

  • Knowledge of campus resources, processes, and departments such as admissions, financial aid, placement testing, and registration

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Computer skills (ex: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Student Information System, Handshake, etc.)

  • Effective organizational skills

  • Must have highly effective interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to manage students in their efforts to achieve certification

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external stakeholders and facilitate their hosting of Collin students for a practical experience

  • Ability to work professionally with Collin College faculty and staff

  • Ability to connect student degree plans to opportunities within TransferU and proprietary transfer pathways related to workforce and field of study programs

  Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.  

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience. Knowledge of post-secondary workforce education.  

Licenses and Certifications Certification in relevant occupations preferred.   **This position is Security Sensitive, therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.**
