LEAD THE RACE - PRIVATE EQUITY & M&A EUROPE CLIENT COVERAGE STRATEGY AND PLANNING

Milan based international, cross-border role offering career acceleration and high-impact client work across Marsh. Advising the international client coverage team, as well as the Global Head of PEMA from a strategic and operational perspective.

Marsh Risk’s PEMA (Private Equity & M&A) practice services private capital clients on risk and insurance across the full life cycle of their investments, including for M&A. We are looking for a candidate to join Marsh’s European PEMA client coverage team, working with Italian PE as well as with international PE’s doing deals in Italy.

Mergers, acquisitions, and divestments are among the riskiest and most complex business transactions. Our global PEMA team has been advising clients on evaluating and managing deal-related risks, as well as optimising risk & insurance frameworks across their portfolio companies, for over two decades.

What can you expect:

Main activities and responsibilities of the role:
 

• Client management and business development, with a skillset spanning strategy, operations, data and analytics with deep collaboration skills, a client first attitude and ability to navigate multijurisdictional relationships in a fast pace;

• Support the Global Head of the Marsh Private Equity and M&A (PEMA) practice, PEMA’s Europe Chief Client Officer and the client coverage team with team members in all European financial hubs in growing Marsh’s book of business across a wide range of industry sectors;

• Understands the business challenges and priorities of clients and prospects, connecting these back to Marsh solutions, and shaping a narrative to resonate at the C-Suite level with clients;

• Leads on the delivery of Marsh services to clients following sales dialogues, by engaging with Marsh teams globally to execute to client requirements;

• Able to build a strong internal Marsh network, with the credibility to bring colleagues from across the firm to the table for client dialogues;

• Acts as a point of escalation for highly complex issues and works to resolve problems efficiently;

• In addition to driving client dialogues, must be willing and able to build client presentations, research reports and engage in various Marsh tools and processes as required to support sales processes and deliverables to clients;

• In addition to driving early-stage dialogues across a swathe of clients, take on direct day-to-day client management responsibilities for a selected set of clients.

Requirements:
 

• Appropriate academic background;

• An analytical and strategic mindset, preferably with some management consulting background;

• An understanding of insurance broking and placement;

• Must have the ambition, passion and burning desire to develop client relationships, collaborate internationally build opportunities for Marsh, and close deals – all with a client first approach;

• Holds the gravitas and ability to lead & drive client conversation at the C-Suite level;

• Must be comfortable as an individual contributor in all levels of activity – from CEO-level meetings to the creation of PowerPoint documents and Excel models as required, to start with more of the latter;

• The willingness and ability to travel internationally extensively, at times on short notice.

Plus:
 

• Management consulting or investment banking experience. Used to driving thesis and back them up with data, analytics and analysis;

• The ability to rapidly position yourself as an advisor and strategic coach to Marsh teams and clients, rather than simply a transactional service provider;

• The ability to coalesce Marsh-wide teams around individual client opportunities, ensuring wide and cohesive representation across the firm, as well as assist on RfP’s and wider portfolio opportunities on a global scale;

• Insurance knowledge and experience across a broad range of risk classes and focus areas.

What we offer:
 

• The position is offered on a permanent basis;

• We propose a gross annual salary starting from € 50.000 for a full-time position. Depending on experience, skills and qualifications, we are willing to consider compensation above the starting salary. Variable remuneration may be granted in accordance with company policy. Further details will be shared during the selection process or directly in the employment contract;

• The National Collective Bargaining Agreement (NCBA) applied is "Terziario, Distribuzione e Servizi”;
  The contractual level, together with the applicable terms and conditions, will be determined in line with the experience and professional profile of the candidate selected through the recruitment process;
