Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – PRN
Kern River Transitional Care
Pay Range: $42.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience
Kern River Transitional Care is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The PTA will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents improve mobility, restore function, and achieve their highest level of independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments according to the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, transfers, balance, and gait activities
- Observe and document residents’ progress, responses, and changes in condition
- Communicate resident updates and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Follow all facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary team members
- Promote a safe, supportive, and resident-centered environment
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current California PTA license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing excellent resident care
