Job Summary
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across the APAC region, including but not limited to Australia, New Zealand, India and South Korea.
This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the end-to-end payroll process, from collating and validating payroll inputs through to payroll processing, payments and reconciliations. The role will support payrolls operating across weekly, biweekly and monthly pay frequencies and will act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries.
The successful candidate will have previous payroll experience, strong attention to detail and be comfortable working with data, systems and multiple stakeholders. International payroll experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Collate and validate payroll inputs from HR systems, time and attendance systems, HR teams and branch managers.
- Process payrolls across Australia, New Zealand, India and South Korea using internal systems and external payroll providers.
- Review payroll outputs and investigate discrepancies to support accurate and timely payroll delivery.
- Manage payroll activities across weekly, biweekly and monthly payroll cycles.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee and stakeholder payroll queries, liaising with external payroll providers where required.
- Coordinate payroll payments and complete post-payroll activities.
- Complete payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations and support payroll journals.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
- Support the transition of the Australian payroll from monthly to weekly pay frequency, including testing and validation.
- Support payroll process improvements and other payroll-related projects as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous payroll experience; international or multi-country payroll experience is an advantage.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data.
- Basic understanding of accounting and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work to multiple payroll deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with employees, managers, HR, Finance and payroll providers.
- Experience with ADP Lyric, UKG WFM and/or Workday would be advantageous.
- Experience with APAC payrolls or outsourced payroll providers would be beneficial but is not essential.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field - Preferred
- Experience with auditing - Preferred
- Experience demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products (Excel and Access)
