d2m Services is currently looking for an Overall Engineering Project Manager to support a major FPSO hull construction programme.

The position is part of a large-scale offshore development involving the construction of multiple FPSO hulls across several Asian shipyards.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Management organization, the Overall Engineering Project Manager will provide the overall engineering leadership for several FPSO hull construction programmes running in parallel.

Acting as the Owner Engineering representative, you will provide functional leadership to the Engineering Project Managers and engineering teams assigned to each hull, ensuring consistent engineering execution, technical governance and effective coordination across 3 to 6 hulls under construction in multiple shipyards.

Engineering Scope

You will oversee the detailed engineering and production engineering activities performed by the shipyard engineering organizations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements and applicable industry standards.

You will support the site engineering teams throughout the construction phase by coordinating the resolution of technical queries and ensuring effective interfaces between the Owner Engineering organization, shipyards and project stakeholders.

Looking Ahead

Beyond the current construction programme, you will work closely with the Naval Architecture team to define technical specifications, engineering standards and design philosophies for future FPSO hulls.

You will also interface with project teams to assess, coordinate and implement any hull modifications required before hull conversion and FPSO integration activities.

Role & Responsibilities

As the Overall Engineering Project Manager, you will act as the engineering focal point for several FPSO hull construction projects performed in parallel.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead and coordinate all engineering activities related to FPSO hull construction across multiple shipyards.
• Manage and provide functional leadership to Engineering Project Managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams located at each construction site.
• Oversee engineering activities performed by shipyard design teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Monitor the progress and quality of detailed engineering and production engineering activities supporting hull fabrication.
• Ensure effective technical interfaces between the Owner Engineering team, shipyards, engineering contractors and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate the review and resolution of technical queries raised during the construction phase.
• Identify technical risks, anticipate potential impacts on schedule, cost and quality, and implement appropriate mitigation actions.
• Ensure consistency of engineering standards, processes and technical requirements across all construction sites.
• Support project management teams during technical decision-making and engineering change processes.
• Provide consolidated engineering status reporting and progress visibility across all FPSO hull construction projects.
• Participate in technical reviews, construction meetings and project governance forums.

Beyond current construction activities, you will contribute to future FPSO developments by working closely with Naval Architecture teams to define hull concepts, technical specifications and engineering standards for upcoming projects.

You will also support project teams in assessing and implementing any hull modifications required prior to FPSO conversion and integration activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in offshore engineering, shipyard construction or major marine projects.
• Proven experience in FPSO, FLNG or large offshore floating asset construction projects.
• Previous experience as Engineering Manager, Project Engineering Manager, Hull Manager, Hull Package Manager or Construction Engineering Manager.
• Strong understanding of hull construction, shipyard engineering processes and offshore project execution.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams in an international environment.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously across different construction sites.
• Strong experience interfacing with shipyards, EPC contractors, engineering companies and project owners.
• Good understanding of offshore project lifecycle, from engineering development through fabrication and construction.
• Previous experience in Asian shipyards (China, Korea, Singapore) would be highly appreciated.
• Fluent English is mandatory.
