Data and Analytics Professional is an individual contributor role within the Business Intelligence & Analytics Job Family. As part of the Professional career stream, this role typically emphasizes applying technical and discipline knowledge rather than managing people to achieve results, although coaching or mentoring less experienced staff may be common. At this level, the professional generally works independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in a specific area but will need supervision and support on more complex tasks. They usually apply practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes, and typically deliver solutions through a choice between known alternatives within the area of expertise

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Business Intelligence:

• Produce BI insights through statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies to support business decisions.
• Apply BI and analytics techniques across relevant business domains, such as supply chain, marketing, sales, finance, HR, and procurement.

Independent Execution:

• Work independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in a specific area, seeking supervision and support on more complex tasks.
• Apply practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes to deliver quality outcomes.

Problem Solving:

• Solution through a choice between known alternatives within the area of expertise,2 with the leader typically evaluating the appropriateness and effectiveness of the solution.

Data Quality and Governance:

• Support the accuracy and quality of data used for BI insights and reporting.
• Help maintain data integrity standards and compliance with relevant guidelines.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support the delivery of data and analytics initiatives.
• Where appropriate, provide informal guidance or mentoring to less experienced colleagues.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Stay current with practical methods, tools, and techniques to enhance BI capabilities.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of analytics processes and reporting practices.
