As a DevOps Engineer, you will help shape the cloud infrastructure and engineering platforms behind OBDeleven. You will work across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, observability, security automation, and reliability - with the ownership to improve not only how our systems run, but how we build and operate them.
What You’ll Do
- Design, operate, and continuously improve secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, OpenTofu, or similar technologies, reducing manual configuration and improving repeatability.
- Design and improve CI/CD pipelines and reusable workflows for automated testing, security validation, deployment, and release processes.
- Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with development teams to resolve infrastructure, deployment, networking, and environment issues.
- Implement DevSecOps and software supply chain security controls, including secret scanning, dependency and container vulnerability scanning, and appropriate CI/CD security gates.
- Monitor infrastructure health, performance, availability, capacity, and resource utilization, and turn monitoring into meaningful operational improvements.
- Apply least-privilege principles to cloud identities, service accounts, roles, and permissions.
- Automate repetitive operational processes and help reduce technical debt, configuration drift, and unnecessary manual work.
- Identify infrastructure capacity and cloud cost risks and recommend right-sizing, architectural, or operational improvements.
- Contribute to infrastructure governance and automation initiatives, including resource ownership, tagging, Policy-as-Code, compliance evidence, and infrastructure reporting.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for the systems you own.
What We Expect From You
- Strong hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure and/or AWS.
- Practical experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, or another Infrastructure as Code tool.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production or production-like environments.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar.
- Strong Linux knowledge and scripting skills in Bash, Python, PowerShell, or a comparable language.
- Good understanding of cloud networking, DNS, identity and access management, secrets management, and infrastructure security.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting distributed or cloud-based systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently navigate ambiguous technical challenges.
- Proactive ownership, with strong communication and collaboration across technical teams.
Nice to have requirements:
- Experience with DevSecOps or software supply chain security, including secret scanning, SCA, container scanning, or SBOM generation.
- Experience with Policy-as-Code, cloud governance, or IAM automation.
- Familiarity with tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, CloudWatch, Renovate, Trivy, or similar.
- Experience building integrations using APIs, SQL/PostgreSQL, or automated infrastructure/compliance reporting.
