À propos de ce poste Mid-Senior Backend Engineer - NL Startup chez Seven Red Lines
Seven Red Lines is looking for a Mid-Senior Backend Engineer to join the core engineering team of a fast-growing Amsterdam startup in the e-commerce payments space.
The company manages disputes and chargebacks end-to-end for online merchants, integrating with e-commerce platforms, payment providers, fulfillment systems, and customer-support tools to collect evidence and resolve cases with payment providers and card networks. Following a successful pre-seed round, the company is now expanding its engineering team ahead of its next growth stage.
You will be employed by Seven Red Lines in Greece but work as an embedded member of the startup's core team. You will be one of its early engineers, with meaningful ownership over technical decisions, a short path from idea to production, and a visible impact on the product from the start. Joining at this stage also gives you the opportunity to grow with the company, taking on increasing technical ownership and potentially shaping the engineering team as it scales.
Responsibilities
- Design and build API integrations with merchants' systems: e-shop platforms, payment service providers, fulfillment, and customer-support tools
- Develop new features in the core backend platform, used daily by the internal operations team
- Own your work end-to-end, from design through deployment, in a modern GCP environment
- Build AI-powered automations into the platform to handle more dispute cases with less manual work
- Contribute to infrastructure and deployment practices (CI/CD)
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
- Strong Python skills; hands-on experience with FastAPI (or a comparable framework)
- Experience with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform
- Solid grasp of relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and building reliable data flows between systems
- Comfortable working with little supervision in a small, fast-moving team
- Professional working proficiency in English
Good to have
- Hands-on experience implementing AI/LLM automations in production systems (beyond AI-assisted coding)
- Good understanding of data warehousing (BigQuery)
- DevOps experience: infrastructure as code (Terraform), deployment pipelines, running what you build
- Exposure to e-commerce or payments
- Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a relevant field
Benefits
- Startup impact: an Early-team role where what you build actually ships and matters
- Growth trajectory: join before the next funding round and grow with the company over the coming years
- Private health insurance in Greece, provided from the start
- Flexibility: work fully remote from Greece; if you ever want to relocate to Amsterdam, that door is open - but it's entirely optional
- Employment: full-time, indefinite employment contract with Seven Red Lines in Greece, with a 3-month probation period
