Job Summary:
BlackSky is looking for a Marketing Manager to create and manage corporate marketing programs. This role is responsible for developing compelling narratives and marketing resources that position BlackSky as a leader in space-based intelligence. On a day-to-day basis, you will interface with internal and external stakeholders, while creating materials to arm employees and marketing stakeholders with the right messaging, content and competitive insights. As part of the Marketing function, you will be responsible for building brand awareness with memorable tactics that reach target customers and industry influencers. This role is an individual contributor within the organization.
This hybrid position is based in Herndon, Virginia, and be responsible for occasionally traveling to support BlackSky engagements in the greater Washington D.C. area.
Responsibilities:
- Build and execute a corporate marketing and brand awareness plan with business growth and awareness goals.
- Shape the positioning and messaging resources that drive wider adoption of our brand’s value proposition.
- Develop and maintain BlackSky corporate assets, including briefing materials, one-pagers, videos, website content and messaging guides.
- Manage marketing deliverables for key corporate programs, including satellite launches, investor materials, strategic partner enablement and major advertising campaigns.
- Work closely with broader GTM teams to execute top-of-funnel marketing campaigns.
- Ideate corporate website, social media and thought-leadership.
- Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors.
- Collaborate with program managers and engineering leads to translate complex space technology into clear, compelling messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support internal communications and employer branding in a competitive talent market.
- Track emerging trends and competitive activity in the space industry to inform brand positioning and messaging strategy.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant marketing experience, including past success in brand identity management.
- Experience in B2B and/or B2G marketing and brand work.
- Familiarity with marketing tools (HubSpot, Adobe Creative Suite, analytics platforms).
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive narrative.
- Exceptional attention to detail, even when managing multiple deadlines.
- Proven ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Strong research skills and willingness to take initiative on projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the aerospace, defense or technology industries.
- Experience marketing to military, intelligence community or government agency audiences.
- Strong understanding of the government procurement landscape and customer base.
- Experience representing companies at corporate events and tradeshows.

The anticipated salary range for candidates in Herndon, VA is $105,000 - $120,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Herndon, VA.
