Role Summary & Impact
As a Manager, Analytics supporting the Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) account, you will be a core member of a high-energy analytics team working across one of the world's most iconic beauty portfolios — spanning 20+ brands across fragrance, skincare, makeup, and haircare.
In this role, you'll help build the foundation: establishing measurement approaches, shaping deliverables, and creating clarity from ambiguity. This role is not a traditional reporting role — it's fast-paced, insight-driven, and requires someone who can take complex performance marketing data and turn it into compelling stories that influence decisions.
You'll report directly to the Director of Analytics (Americas), collaborate closely with the Executive Director, and delegate day-to-day analytical tasks to offshore team members in LATAM. The ideal candidate is proactive, operates independently, and thrives when given a challenge and the autonomy to determine how to solve it.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Data Storytelling: Transform campaign and performance data into clear, actionable insights and narratives for internal teams and client stakeholders — going beyond numbers to explain why results are happening and what to do about them.
- Execute Media Measurement: Own campaign measurement and analysis across national and retail campaigns, including ROI analysis, attribution, and evaluation of campaign effectiveness — aligned with WPP best practices.
- Support Performance Marketing Analysis: Work with Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) performance data, including analysis of traffic, conversion, and revenue trends using Google Analytics and other platform data sources.
- Develop Forecasting & Revenue Tracking: Build and maintain forecasting frameworks to track daily revenue goals, identify variances, and support optimization across standard and promotional periods.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with media planning, investment, data engineering, and data science teams across WPP to ensure measurement inputs and outputs are aligned and actionable.
- Delegate & Coordinate with Offshore Team: Coordinate day-to-day analytical tasks with offshore managers in LATAM, providing clear direction and reviewing outputs to maintain quality and consistency.
- Support Testing & Innovation: Collaborate on testing strategies for new platforms, data sources (including clean rooms), and tactics — contributing to the evolution of ELC's measurement approach over time.
- Stay Current on Industry Trends: Proactively bring new thinking, tools, and measurement innovations to the team — including emerging capabilities within the WPP Open AI platform.
- Contribute to Dashboard & Reporting Enablement: While not the primary dashboard builder, contribute to defining data inputs and outputs, and interpret existing dashboards to extract meaningful insights for the team and client.
Skills and Experience
- 3–5+ years of analytics experience in a media agency, brand, or consultancy — must be operating at a level that allows for near-full autonomy on day-to-day work.
- Advanced Excel proficiency: Comfortable with ETL processes (extracting, transforming, loading), merging datasets, building pivot tables, and manipulating large datasets quickly and accurately.
- Google Analytics experience (critical): Strong understanding of web/DTC analytics via Google Analytics (UA or GA4), including traffic analysis, conversion tracking, and performance marketing metrics — essential given Estee Lauder's DTC business model.
- Performance Marketing Fluency: Familiarity with creative-level and audience-level media reporting, campaign performance metrics (CTR, ROAS, CPA, LTV), and the nuances of multi-channel measurement.
- Forecasting Experience: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain revenue or performance forecasts, track actuals vs. goals, and communicate variances clearly to stakeholders.
- Data Storytelling: Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into concise, visually clear, and compelling narratives for both internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Proactive & Independent: Must be able to receive an ambiguous challenge and independently determine a path to solution — this role requires strong judgment and minimal hand-holding.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Comfortable working across planning, investment, data engineering, and data science teams — and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
