Pair is seeking Maintenance & Facilities Technician for both 1st shift and 2nd shift to support our prescription eyewear manufacturing operation in Irvine, CA. This role will report to our Director of Maintenance & Facilities.

Candidates should indicate their preferred shift during the application process. Final shift placement will be based on candidate availability and business needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain company Health and Safety standards, including PPE requirements where applicable.

  • Follow OSHA safety regulations when performing all maintenance activities.

  • Participate in training new Operator associates when needed.

  • Support Rx Lab production teams in minimizing machine downtime by executing repairs and planned preventive maintenance.

  • Support the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and effective processes.

  • Provide Maintenance Leadership with regular updates to proactively identify and address potential problems.

  • Troubleshoot production equipment errors and mechanical/electrical issues.

  • Communicate equipment and machine status to department leaders so production workflows can be adjusted when needed.

  • Interact daily with Production Leadership, Quality, and other departments to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

  • Execute the daily prioritization of preventive maintenance and repairs, escalating delays or issues to Maintenance Leadership.

  • Perform parts audits, place and receive orders, and organize replenishment parts in a timely manner.

  • Provide project support across departments as needed.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with all departments.

Who You Are:

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Capable of operating within production areas self-sufficiently.

  • Able to successfully complete required OSHA training for heavy equipment operation within 90 days.

  • Competent in safely operating various types of machinery and reporting abnormalities to supervisors.

  • Skilled in using formal Root Cause Analysis tools, including Fishbone, 5 Whys, and Pareto analysis, to resolve production issues.

  • Actively involved in continuous improvement efforts.

  • An effective communicator and collaborative team player.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Self-motivated and an efficient problem solver.

  • Able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in computer use.

  • Committed to ensuring safe work practices for yourself and team members.

  • Knowledgeable in building utilities and facilities service shut-offs.

Need to Have:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, equipment processes, building facilities, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in electromechanical troubleshooting.

  • Experience using multimeters and other electrical test equipment.

  • Associate degree, trade school diploma, or applicable technical certification.

  • Ability to work the assigned 1st or 2nd shift schedule, including occasional holidays and weekends based on business needs.

  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work on your feet for most of the shift and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds with assistance.

  • Willingness to work indoors, outdoors, and in inclement weather when required.

  • Ability to successfully complete Electro/Mechanical written assessments.

  • Experience leading, coaching, or teaching other team members.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with optical equipment.

  • Experience with lens manufacturing processes, including Surfacing, Coating, and Edging.

  • Experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).

  • Proficiency with CMMS programs.

  • Experience with inventory management.

At Pair, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. These considerations can cause individual compensation to vary. The pay range for this position is expected to be $26.00–$28.00 per hour and will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role may be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
