The Machinist Technician fabricates and machines parts for durable medical equipment while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. This role operates machine tools, inspects finished products, performs equipment maintenance, and supports manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate new and replacement parts using lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and other machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and machining instructions.
• Set up machines and select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, feed rates, and materials.
• Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
• Perform preventive maintenance, maintain inventory, and complete production documentation.
• Follow ISO, FDA, and workplace safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Assist with material handling and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or skilled trades training preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and machining specifications.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and shop math skills.
• Experience operating machine tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment requiring the use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats. Frequent standing, bending, and material handling are required.
