Position Purpose

The Learning & Development Partner (ASIA) SJ Global Academy plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering impactful learning experiences across ASIA for the SJ Group. The position blends creativity with strategic thinking to support Regional development as well as contribute to Global learning initiatives. The incumbent will lead instructional design, e-learning development, program facilitation and Learning Management System (LMS) operations, while driving key programs such as Graduate Development, induction and compliance training.

The Learning & Development Partner will deliver the ASIA programmes including Leadership, Management, Mentorship, Soft Skills, Sponsorship and Culture Programs, as well as orientation and induction training for our people.

Strong collaboration with the broader SJ Global Academy team, People & Culture team and Business Leadership teams is expected to build and implement practical learning solutions in line with business strategy. High energy and adaptability is also expected to deliver impactful and dynamic workshops and development sessions tailored to diverse audiences.

The incumbent will role model the SJ Group values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.  

Key Accountabilities

Manage instructional design and e-learning development to create impactful learning and experiences that align to the needs of learners, under the direction of global academy priorities. Deliver and facilitate learning and development programs and workshops both in-person and virtual, ensuring effective transfer of knowledge in line with learning objectives. Oversee the delivery of induction and compliance training to ensure all employees meet regulatory and organizational requirements; Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support learning and development initiatives. Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for the Region, including overseeing reporting and analytics to demonstrate learning impact and support data-driven decision-making.

Ideal Person Specification

Formal Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Learning & Organisational Development, Psychology, or related field required;

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment ideal;

  • Additional qualifications or certifications in learning design, learning facilitation, business and performance coaching (or similar) desirable.

Experience

Has a minimum of four years’ experience ideally in a Learning and/or Organisational Development role. Has the demonstrated ability to consistently:

  • Display proven experience in instructional design and e-learning, preferably in technical or consulting environments;

  • Deliver development programs, induction and compliance training;

  • Display hands-on LMS management experience (e.g., Docebo, Workday Learning).

  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects;

  • Demonstrate facilitation experience across a range of learning interventions and audiences;

  • Lead initiatives through the entire learning cycle;

  • Show proficiency in creating quality learning materials;

  • Ability to produce quality outcomes with competing demands and tight deadlines;

  • Coordinate and manage logistics of programs;

  • Create training materials, graphics and presentations.

Skills / Knowledge

  • Proficiency in learning technologies (e.g., Articulate360 Rise, ElevenLabs, Adobe Captivate, Vyond);

  • Proficiency in using AI-first Learning Management Systems (LMS) i.e. Docebo;

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills;

  • Strong facilitation skills and learner engagement capability;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholder engagement ability;

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with global teams;

  • Strong working knowledge of L&D techniques and strategies;

  • Design, development and implementation Learning and Culture programs;

  • Strong facilitation skills in the context of organisational learning programs;

  • Excellent project management skills;

  • Expert knowledge of L&D best practice;

  • Consulting, negotiation and facilitation skills in the context of resolving L&D related issues;

  • Support and develop team knowledge and skills;

  • Ability to work independently towards achieving objectives without supervision.
