Let’s Talk about the Role

The Lead TFA Generator Mechanical will serve as the primary technical expert and site lead for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial power generation rotating equipment, specifically generators.

You will lead complex field service operations, providing technical direction to teams, ensuring high-quality execution at customer sites, and acting as a mentor to develop the next generation of field talent. You are the heartbeat of our on-site customer experience, ensuring that our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

How You Will Make a Difference

• Leading on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and emergency repair of generators, ensuring technical precision and high-quality results.

• Driving customer satisfaction by providing expert technical instruction and transparent, timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.

• Collaborating with customer representatives and third-party contractors to oversee critical tasks, including dimensional checks and alignment procedures.

• Improving equipment reliability by troubleshooting complex issues and executing aftermarket upgrades to meet modern performance standards.

• Developing and mentoring team members, fostering a high-performance culture focused on technical growth and operational excellence.

• Creating accurate and comprehensive technical reports, ensuring all documentation reflects the full scope of site activities and future maintenance requirements.

Special Role Requirements

• Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.

• Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments (around 80% of their time).

Skills for Success

Required Qualifications & Experience:

You should be a seasoned technical leader in power generation with:

• The ability to interpret complex electrical and mechanical diagrams and perform high-precision tasks such as dial and laser alignment, to provide direction to others.

• The capability to manage multiple project workstreams simultaneously while maintaining a rigorous focus on safety standards.

• An understanding of Generator Operation and Controlling Parameters across a wide range of equipment.

• An expertise in providing clear, professional technical guidance to both customers and on-site staff.

• Previous experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position.

• Fluency in both English and Italian to effectively navigate our diverse operational environment.

A formal education in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) is essential, but we are also interested in your total experience and professional achievements in the field.

Desired Characteristics:

• Ability to act as a senior rep on any outage for the unit qualified. Acts as project manager and mentor on complex projects. Demonstrates mentor and team lead skills.

• Experience and training on either BBC / ABB / ALSTOM equipment or any other oOEM equipment.

• Extensive Field Engineering Services experience.

• Strong organizational, project management, oral and written communication and interpersonal and leadership skills.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in Milan, with the expectation of extensive travel to project sites.
