About the Role

We’re looking for a Lead Backend Engineer (.NET) who thrives on both coding and guiding others. You’ll play a key role in defining technical direction, shaping architecture, and ensuring the long-term quality of a modern, cloud-based platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll lead by example through daily coding, code reviews, and mentorship, while partnering with product and engineering leadership to drive strategic decisions.

We’re looking for someone who combines technical excellence with strong ownership, confidence in decision-making, and the ability to bring others along on the journey.

Experience with .NET, cloud (preferably GCP), and asynchronous or distributed systems is essential. Frontend experience (or a willingness to learn React) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend development using .NET / C# with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Define and enforce technical standards, architecture, and best practices.

• Take ownership of technical decisions, clearly articulating and defending solutions while constructively engaging with stakeholder feedback.

• Inspire and align the team around technical direction, fostering confidence and enthusiasm for proposed solutions and architectural approaches.

• Mentor and support engineers across the team, fostering a collaborative environment.

• Partner with product and leadership to align technology with business goals.
  Proactively build deep system and domain expertise, demonstrating curiosity and persistence in understanding complex workflows and platform behaviors.

• Contribute to shaping the technical roadmap and influencing cross-team architecture.

• Maintain a balance between innovation, delivery, and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Backend Engineer working with .NET / C#.

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, Azure/AWS also relevant).

• Experience with asynchronous, distributed, or event-driven systems.

• Solid knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and CI/CD practices.

• Demonstrated ability to confidently drive and defend technical decisions in collaborative environments.

• Strong sense of ownership, with a proactive and persistent approach to problem-solving and learning complex systems.

• Great communication skills and a collaborative, mentoring mindset.

• Curiosity for learning new technologies — especially frontend frameworks like React.
