As our Intake Worker with the Emotional Wellbeing for Older Persons (EWOP) program, you'll be key to our mission to enrich lives and strengthen communities. Your opportunity

As the first point of connection for older people, families and referrers, you will provide intake, triage, referral and administrative support for Anglicare's EWOP service. You will gather initial information, support client onboarding and help people access timely emotional wellbeing and mental health support.

You will also manage a small caseload of clients with low-complexity needs, providing basic case coordination under guidance. Working closely with the Program Manager, Case Workers, Case Managers and Mental Health Practitioners, you will escalate complex or high-risk matters to an experienced practitioner.

With integrity and resilience, you will:

• Receive and process referrals received by phone, email and online systems in line with EWOP intake processes.
• Complete initial information gathering and screening using established assessment tools and processes.
• Coordinate onboarding, data entry and communication with clients, families, referrers and other stakeholders.
• Manage a small low-complexity caseload and provide basic case coordination under appropriate supervision.
• Maintain accurate, confidential client records and escalate complex needs, significant risks or out-of-scope matters promptly.

What you'll bring

You are a calm, organised and responsive intake practitioner who can build rapport with older people, families and referrers while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. You listen carefully, communicate clearly and manage competing priorities without compromising accuracy or client care.

You share Anglicare's values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence and can bring them to your work with clients, colleagues and the multidisciplinary EWOP team.

What's required

• A relevant qualification in community services, a health-related field or administration, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in intake, administration or customer service, with strong computer literacy and database skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, complete accurate records and meet required timeframes.
• Well-developed interpersonal, telephone and written communication skills, including supporting people with complex needs and diverse backgrounds.
• Current driver licence and comprehensively insured vehicle; valid Working with Children and NDIS Worker Screening checks, or willingness to obtain; and ability to meet Police Check and Category A vaccination requirements.

What's preferred

• Experience in mental health, counselling, case coordination or services supporting older people.
• Experience using structured intake, screening or assessment tools.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary service team.
