Summary of Position:
The Retail Inside Sales Associate is responsible for driving sales growth and managing strategic accounts across all product categories. This role combines hands-on inside sales activities with national account management, focusing on customer retention, new customer acquisition, product placement, and the development of sales strategies to maximize revenue across retail and distribution channels.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inside sales activities, including calling current and new customers, and responding to customer inquiries.
• Drive revenue growth through opportunity, cross-selling, and up-selling.
• Acquire and retain customers through cold calling, tradeshow leads, and other lead generation avenues.
• Develop and execute key account strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key strategic partners.
• Conduct line reviews, develop promotional plans, negotiate terms, and deliver mutually advantageous outcomes.
• Increase SKU placement and ensure individual and team sales goals are met or exceeded.
• Represent the company at retail tradeshows, veterinary conferences, and other industry events.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
• Track and report on sales performance, forecasts, and key metrics.
• Mentor and support sales team members as needed, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of sales experience; pet products or consumer goods experience preferred.
• Some college or 2–4 year degree preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; knowledge of PowerPoint and Salesforce preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to travel for tradeshows and client visits.

Accountabilities:

• Meet or exceed individual and/or team sales goals.
• Source leads within assigned territory using search engines, social media, and word-of-mouth.
• Maximize sales through increased SKU placement, national account growth, and new customer acquisition.

Relationships:

• Reports directly to the Director of Sales.
• Works closely with Accounts Receivable, Order Management/Processing, and Sales Support.
