The Role

This is not a "shadow the senior person and watch" internship. You will be building things from day one.

As our GTM Marketing Engineer Intern, you will sit at the intersection of marketing, sales, and technical execution. Your job is to connect the systems, automate the workflows, and build the pipelines that turn Autohive's GTM strategy into a working revenue machine. 

Think: HubSpot automations, enrichment pipelines, CRM logic, website design, asset creation and campaign integrations all running cleaner because of work you shipped.

What You'll Do

Build and automate the GTM stack (around half your time)

• Build and maintain automations in HubSpot: lifecycle triggers, lead routing, nurture sequences, and scoring logic
• Set up integrations between our CRM, enrichment tools, ad platforms (Google, LinkedIn, Meta), and analytics stack using Autohive
• Keep data clean, enriched, and flowing correctly between systems so nothing falls through the cracks
• Create new assets, including agents and website content, that support rapid testing in new markets for Autohive

Analyse and optimise the funnel (around a third of your time)

• Pull performance data from HubSpot, GA4, and Looker to keep dashboards current and useful
• Based on performance data, suggest improvements in our GTM approach
• Identify where leads are stalling or dropping and build the fix
• Run A/B tests on landing pages, sign-up flows, and email sequences; measure the results; and document what you learned

Work alongside AI agents (the rest of your time)

• Use Autohive agents in your day-to-day: you will have an unlimited AI budget and zero token anxiety
• Spec and help build new agents for repeatable GTM tasks like outreach personalisation, lead enrichment, and reporting
• Be part of how a modern GTM team actually operates with AI in the loop

What Good Looks Like

• New end-to-end automations live in HubSpot: triggered, tested, and improving
• Our ad and email data is flowing cleanly into a single dashboard you built or significantly improved
• You can describe where leads come from, where they stall, and what you changed to fix it
• Teams of Autohive agents running in your own workflow
• Significant pipeline in new markets being generated through the work you do

You're Probably the Right Fit If

• You are studying or have recently graduated in, marketing, business, computer science, information systems, or something adjacent
• You have tinkered with automation tools, APIs, or no-code platforms  even in side projects or coursework
• You are comfortable in (or excited to learn) HubSpot, GA4, or similar tools
• You think in systems. When something breaks you want to find the root cause, not just the workaround
• You are AI-native or close to it. Agents, LLMs, and automation tools feel like opportunities, not obstacles
• You can ship something imperfect and iterate, perfectionism is not a superpower here

Bonus Points

• You have built something with an API, even something small
• You have used some form of AI automation tools for a real workflow
• You have written SQL or basic Python or you are actively learning
• You have run a paid campaign or managed an email sequence end-to-end
• You are genuinely curious about how AI is changing go-to-market

Requirements

• Have studied or be studying at a New Zealand tertiary education institute (note: students who have completed study overseas are not eligible).
• Be studying at NZQA level 6-10, or if study has been completed, the closing date of the last semester must be less than 12 months ago.
• Be studying science, technology, engineering, design or business.
• Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
• Not have been previously employed by the company unless part-time or temporary.
• Not have undertaken more than two Experience Grant internships with the company.
• Be available to work in office at our Wellington CBD HQ.
