Position Overview:
We are seeking a Fixed Income Execution Trader to join our Central Execution Trading Desk, based in New York. This role supports the firm's growing non-equity businesses, working closely with portfolio managers across fixed income and macro strategies to execute trades across linear products. The trader will cover rates, government bonds, futures, and swaps, with experience in non-linear products such as swaptions a plus. FX/commodities experience is also a plus, and the candidate should be flexible to support equities execution when needed. This is a hands-on seat on a small central team, and the ideal candidate combines deep product knowledge with a builder's mentality: comfortable covering Asia and European hours when the desk needs it, and motivated by growing alongside the business.
Responsibilities:
- Execute across linear fixed income products, including government bonds, futures, and swaps, with accurate and timely execution aligned to Portfolio Manager strategy and risk parameters. Willingness to develop execution capabilities in non-linear products such as swaptions over time.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Portfolio Managers, understanding their investment objectives and providing real-time market color, liquidity insights, and execution feedback.
- Establish and foster strong connections with sell-side counterparties to source liquidity and market intelligence.
- Maintain ongoing partnership with risk, operations, compliance, and technology teams to reduce operational risk and improve trading workflows.
- Stay abreast of market developments and regulatory changes that may impact trading.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of execution trading experience required, and buy-side institution (asset management or hedge fund) experience is a plus.
- Strong experience across linear fixed income products; rates, bond basis, and swaps required. Non-linear experience (swaptions) a plus, as is FX and EM.
- Willingness to trade equities when required.
- Deep understanding of market structure, liquidity dynamics, and execution mechanics.
- Comfortable on a small central team with a start-up mentality.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey market information clearly to portfolio managers and internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable with the structure and economics of a central seat, with motivation tied to the growth of the platform.
- Coding experience (Python, SQL) and experience with AI tools preferred but not required.
- New York-based.
Pay Range:
Base salary: $200,000 plus a competitive bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
