World Vision International Nepal’s one-year Traineeship Program, running from January to December, provides fresh Nepali graduates with practical work experience, professional development, mentoring, and opportunities to contribute to WVI Nepal’s work while gaining valuable skills and experience for their future careers.

The purpose of this position is to assist Finance team of East Field Office, Bardibas, in maintaining financial accounting by preparing vouchers, accounting reports and statements, checking suppliers’ invoices and employees claims, reconciling accounts, filing and documentations, processing petty cash payment and providing support in overall financial administration. The Finance Trainee aims to learn and develop the practical skills on financial accounting, processes and procedures in WVI Nepal’s context by working together with assigned teams/individuals as per assigned tasks and assisting to achieve WVI Nepal’s goal.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Systematic Filing and document management

• Maintain a systematic filing system of key documents (in hard copy and soft copy) as per FFM manual.
• Ensure and acknowledge all original invoices and supporting documents are properly collected and maintained.
• Print payment and claim vouchers, invoices, receipts, and documents file systematically.
• Maintain complete and accessible financial documentation for audit and monitoring purposes.
• Ensure documents are properly organized according to established filing procedures of organizational Guidance.
• Verify that payment documents have appropriate approvals and supporting evidence.

Reporting and Record Keeping and Monitoring

• Prepare vouchers, accounting reports of petty cash settlements.
• Reconcile payment supporting documents with financial transactions.
• Assist in monthly financial reporting and ensure completeness of records.
• Support in compilation of East Field Office financial reports and required data.
• Assist in Risk-Based Financial Monitoring (RBFM) of PNGO transactions.
• Identify discrepancies or missing documents of payment. and
• Follow up on pending financial documents and communicate them to the timely settlement.

Fund Management and Communication

• Assist in communicating with PNGOs regarding monthly Fund forecast and fund requests and Support preparation and compilation.
• Review fund requests for completeness and required supporting information.
• Follow up with PNGOs on pending fund requests and other financial information and documents.
• Support and compile financial information of Partner for the East Field Office

Support to operation

• Assist to field operations and program teams as assigned.
• Assist in processing administrative invoices, employee claims, and other routine payments as required.
• Perform other finance-related tasks assigned by the Field Finance team to support WVI Nepal’s operational goals.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE 

Required Education, training, license, registration and certification 

• At least a bachelor’s degree in a Management, Finance or related field.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications 

Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of accounting theory and financial analysis required. Experience in financial reporting is preferable.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
