The FSR will also help develop maintenance training plans, gain familiarity with Integrated Product Support activities, and apply FLIGHT DECK principles through regular progress updates and team operating rhythms. Following successful completion of training and security requirements, the FSR will relocate to a customer site to serve as the on-site technical expert for propulsion system maintenance and sustainment, supporting customer operations and helping establish the first Edison Works FSR capability.

This role supports Edison Works programs and is part of an Integrated Product Support (IPS) and on-site engineering support ecosystem focused on propulsion system maintenance and sustainment readiness. The position begins with an on-site training and onboarding period at GE Aerospace headquarters in Cincinnati (Evendale), Ohio (approximately one year), followed by relocation to a customer site as the on-site propulsion system technical expert.

The role partners cross-functionally with engineering disciplines including Maintainability, Reliability, Safety, Supportability, and Human Factors, as well as product support, assembly, and customer maintenance teams.

Role Overview

The Field Service Representative (FSR) will complete required training, security, and technical preparation to deploy as the on-site technical expert supporting propulsion system maintenance and sustainment. The role develops deep program knowledge through shadowing engine assembly operations, working with engineering and product support teams, and participating in Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities to build strong understanding of sustainment requirements, manuals, procedures, and support equipment.

Once deployed, the FSR serves as a critical interface between GE Aerospace and the customer, enabling effective maintenance execution, sustainment planning, and readiness outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Deployment Readiness: Complete required training to prepare for deployment to customer locations and fulfill all security requirements needed to support relocation and on-site customer support. Technical Knowledge Development: Shadow engine assembly teams to build awareness of propulsion system design, architecture, and manufacturing processes. Cross-Functional Integration: Develop relationships and cross-functional understanding within GE Aerospace and Edison Works organizations; collaborate with engineering and product support teams. Sustainment Requirements & Planning: Develop in-depth understanding of program maintenance and sustainment requirements; participate within Integrated Product Support (IPS) and on-site engineering teams to align sustainment execution to customer needs. Maintenance Training Support: Support the development of a maintenance training plan for customer maintainers, including knowledge transfer and procedural reinforcement. Support Equipment Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of propulsion system support equipment requirements and proper usage to support safe and effective maintenance execution. Technical Manuals & Procedures: Build practical expertise in technical manuals and inspection, servicing, repair, and maintenance procedures to enable accurate, repeatable field execution. Engineering Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Maintainability, Reliability, Safety, Supportability, and Human Factors engineering to support sustainment readiness and continuous improvement opportunities. Operating Rhythm & Progress Reporting: Provide daily, weekly, and monthly progress updates using continuous improvement and operating cadence principles to drive execution and visibility. Customer Site Relocation & Support: Relocate to a customer site and serve as the on-site propulsion system maintenance and sustainment technical expert, supporting customer execution and readiness outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Military/DoD Familiarity: Familiarity with U.S. military organizations, maintenance and sustainment processes, and the DoD’s IPS elements
  • Technical Background: Familiarity with turbine engine systems and demonstrated knowledge of logistics and sustainment processes for military turbine engines
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience related to the role responsibilities, including at least 4 years of military or DoD-related industry experience
  • Work Location: Ability to work full-time, on-site at GE Aerospace headquarters in Cincinnati, OH for approximately one year prior to relocating to customer site (limited remote work due to security requirements)
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed (estimated 20–40%)
  • Citizenship / Export:
    • This role is restricted to U.S. Citizens
    • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology; GE will require proof of status prior to employment
  • Clearance: Must have or qualify for a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
